Governor's Project: Roping in the Donors. This will be an educational project where we will be spreading information about Organ Donation Awareness. We are working with COTA or the children's organ transplant association and they will be sending all the clubs brochures and donor cards to give out. Each club member will receive 10 brochures and donor cards and will need to distribute all 10. The member him/herself can be included. These brochures and cards will be sent to your school directly from COTA. If you have 50 members that means that your club will be required to distribute 500 brochures and donor cards. More information will be provided at the Fall Training Conference. |

District Project: Mission T-O D.R.E.A.M stands for Mission Texas-Oklahoma dedicating resources to educate and mentor. This is a joint project with CKI (college Key club) incorporates the Major Emphasis Program: Children Their Future, Our Focus. If you have been following up with the Seasons of Service, Read and Lead this is basically what this project will be. We will be mentoring young people around our District through the Big Brother/ Big Sister programs, Read and Lead, and projects like that! Unfortunately, we don't have a CKI in our Division so we won't be able to work with them often but that doesn't mean we need to stop mentoring! |

Key Club T-O District Convention: This year, the District Convention will be held in Houston, TX April 1-4th. The convention center will be at the Adam's Mark Hotel but that name is subject to change since it has recently been bought by a new owner. You'll be excited to know that our theme for this year is Medievial Times. 'U-knighting in Service' is our possible slogan. I hope that ALL of you will be able to attend since it is VERY close by and believe me when I say your Kiwanis clubs WILL and ARE willing to help you in any way! We had SUCH a blast last year in Oklahoma City..let's show those Sooners how we do it here in Longhorn/Aggie country :) |
