This is a page for my micellaneous Trigun related observations. They may be humorous, really stupid, or maybe just things that make you go "hmmm." If relevant, I will include scans to go with my observations, so you can observe these things as well ^_^
Mr. Fashion
Around Halloween 2001 on the Trigun mailing list, the subject came up about what Halloween costumes different characters would wear. I managed to get off-topic rather quickly and started talking about the clothes that Knives wears in the manga ^_^;; It soon occurred to me that Knives wears more outfits than any other character in the manga. I decided to look into it further by going through Trigun Maximum and counting how many different things he actually wears, and I counted a total of six up thorugh the sixth volume. Below, you can find scans of all his lovely outfits.
Outfit #1: This one appears in the Midvalley/July flashbacks of Trigun Maximum 4 and 5. It appears to be similar to the outfits worn by the Projects SEEDS crew in the manga. I really like this one; it just looks cool ^_^
Outfit #2: This outfit appears in Wolfwood's flashback in Trigun Maximum 6. It has tubes ^_^ This picture also features unsquished Legato and Elendira, implying that Elendira's been around for awhile...we just didn't get to see him for a long time ^_^
Outfit #3: Here is the freaky spiky outfit Knives wears in Trigun Maximum 2-4. This picture includes the freaky spiky mask. You kind of have to wonder why he would wear something that binds his legs together like that...wouldn't that mean he'd have to hop around like a bunny? Now there's a scary (and hilarious ^_^) thought.
Outfit #3 variation: Here is the same outfit as above, but without the mask and with his legs unbound ^_^ You also get to see his Angel Arm...really cool pic ^_^
Outfit #4: Here's an outfit Knives wears for part of Trigun Maximum 6, chapter 4. Another cool Angel Arm pic.
Outfit #5: Another outfit he wears in Trigun Maximum 6, chapter 4. Look at him pose...he's so sexy ^o^
Outfit #6: Finally, the fashion show concludes (for now) with the outfit he wears later in Trigun Maximum 6 as he ponders the events that happened earlier in the book. (The show will continue once I get off my lazy ass and make scans from the later volumes ^_^;;)
In addition to the outfits shown above, we have seen him as a kid wearing the same clothes as Vash, and he worn a spacesuit...we've also seen him naked ^o^ If you look at all of his outfits, he seems to like big shoulders, coupled with an assortment of straps, buttons, and tubes. I have to wonder where he gets this style of clothes, since everyone else on the planet dresses fairly normally (well, except for Vash...he likes the straps, buttons, and tubes, too ^_^). I guess since he's so old, it's possible that he knows how to sew ^_^ Or maybe his cult followers give his stuff. The biggest question I have about Knives and his outifts is that why does he get so many costume changes while all the other characters seem to be happy wearing the same outfit every day for years on end? Perhaps Nightow-sensei just likes designing stuff for him, because it's more interesting than designing "normal" clothes for the other characters.
