School History:

The plan for the present site in Inverness Road was first conceived in 1965. Application to the Education Department was made in June the same year and after a long delay, it was approved in 1970. The construction work started in August 1970 and the school was finally completed by October 1972.

On 21st December 1973, a Dedication Day was held to commemorate the official opening of the school with the blessing by the late Bishop Peter Lei. The formal inauguration was officiated by Mr. N. M. Ho, Deputy Director of E. D.

In September 1972 the school began its illustrious carrer with only 10 classes, 400 students and 15 teaching staff. After 25 years, there has been a steady expansion to a total of 27 classes, with 1041 students, 47 teachers, 4 clerical staffs, 4 laboratories and 10 janitor staff members.

The Past Students' Association (PSA) was set up in 1976 which is acted as bridge between all the past Holy Familian and the school. All past students can keep in touch with the school by joining in the activities organized by the PSA, like the Grand Annual Dinner. There are three types of membership: student members (for current Form 5 and Form & students), ordinary members and life members.

The Students' Association (S.A.) was founded in 1982. Fully supported by the school, students learn to take up responsibilities though managing student's affairs. The S.A., with 2 teacher advisors, and 11 Exco members, co-ordinates activities for the school, Houses and Clubs. It is also responsible for organising many different programmes like Teachers' Day, Singing Contest, Chinese Day etc.

In 1992, the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) was set up. It is aimed to strengthen the communication between the school and the parents. It now has an Executive Committee of 15 members. PTA meetings are in general well supported. Sessions promoting greater understanding between the school and the parents and Parent-Teacher meeting are especially welcomed by parents.

1997 is HFCC's 25th Silver Jubilee. The school has launched the Campaign for the installation of air conditioning in the School Hall. A number of fund-raising projects wrer organised such as the Walkathon in February, the Dress Casual Day in April and Fun Fair in May. With the support of the PSA, PTA and the enthusiastic co-operation of both staff and students, we have reached our target which is about $800,000.

In order to celcbrate the Silver Jubilee, there are a lot of special activities held out. We have the opening mass at St.Teresa Church. Also an open day is carried out with opening ceremony. The highlights of the celebration are the Silver Jubilee Dinner that held at City Hall and the Variety Show that held at School Hall on 8/1/98 & 9/1/98.

School Song:

The following is the lyrics of HFCC School Song.

1) March, march dear comrades,

Shoulder to shoulder,
Our heads lifted high.
Forth we march to bear witness of Christ;
And vow ne'er to pause
Till we brigh all to fight and serve thy cause.

Refrain

We learn to live in unity

In the Holy Family
"Faith, Love, Duty" ~ our motto be ~
That kindles our way to thee
We pray and sing with one accord
To thank and prais the living God.
Loyal and faithful we will be;
Holy Family, we are proud of thee.

2) Work, work, dear classmates,

Play well together
At work and at play,
Holy Family shines all the way.
Our school gives guidance kind,
To build a perfect character and mind.

3) Love, love dear sisters,

In my heart you're near
To love and to care.
To the Christian spirit we all share.
Beloved school of mine,
My aspirations and sorrow are thine.
