Mizuhara Makoto

Makoto, he's basically the main character of this little shindig. He's 17 and goes to Shininome High School. In El Hazard he has the power to activate the ancient relics, and he dresses in drag to convince the people of El Hazard that he's the Princess Fatora (who's been kidnapped). At home, he unknowingly keeps making Jinnai Katsuhiki (who sees Makoto as his arch-rival) very very angry...

In My Opinon: Makoto's a pretty good guy, he seems like a 'goodietwoshoes' sometimes, and that tends to get on my nerves. I don't understand why Nanami and Shayla-Shayla spend all that time fighting over him though. But the willingness to dress in drag to help his friends makes up for his 'innocence' I suppose.

Jinnai Nanami

Nanami, she's Jinnai Katsuhiku's sister, but she's not like him. While Jinnai is power hungry and corrupt Nanami's one of the good guys. She has a 'secret' crush on Makoto, though, it's fairly easy to tell because she's always fighting with Shayla-Shayla over him. When she was transported to El Hazard the Anime Gods gave Nanami the power to see through the disguises of the Shadow People.

In My Opinon: I like Nanami alot. She's not really a signifigant character and the series could go on without her easily, she justs adds a little extra 'umpf!' to the series :)

Shayla-Shayla

Shayla-Shayla is one of the three Mt. Muldoon Priestesses that Makoto, Mr. Fujisawa and Alielle travel to go see to help them activate the Eye of God. Shayla is a fiesty redhead, with a quick temper and a sharp mouth. She and her sisters Afura Mann and Miz Mishtal are quite powerful, but not compared to the demoness Ifurita. She also develops a fierce crush on Makoto and that is the source of many arguments between her and Nanami. She also has a habit of delivering boring monologues at the most inoppurtune times :>

In My Opinion: Shayla-Shayla is one of the characters that I like the least. Most people love her, but I think that she's overrated. Her hot temper gets on my nerves as how she always overreacts to everything. She's just a tomboy with a bad attitude.

Miz Mishtal

Miz is the eldest of the Muldoon Priestesses. Always trying to get her younger sisters to take better care of thier bodies, I believe she's 26 or 21.. She falls in love with Mr. Fujisawa It's obvious that she's the leader of the three priestesses and her younger sisters respect her. Her element is Water

In My Opinion: Miz seems a little uptight, she needs to relax and stop worrying about how she looks so much of the time. I think that Mr. Fujisawa's good for her. She's my favorite of the Muldoon Priestesses.

Afura Mann

Afura is one of the three Mt. Muldoon priestesses. She likes to name her own moves.Her element is air.

In My Opinion: I like Afura better than Shayla-Shayla anyway..

Alielle

Alielle is Princess Fatora's lover. She decides to tag along with Makoto and Mr. Fujisawa when they go to seek the Mt. Muldoon Priestesses. When they finally meet the Priestesses She falls in love with Shayla-Shayla. Though, she'll hang all over and sleep with anyone, a good example of this is when she's touching Nanami. Nanami says, "hey! I thought you had the hots for that Shayla Shayla?" Alielle responds, "If you can't be with the one you love, well.. you know."

In My Opinion: Alielle's one of my favorite characters, she's cute and she adds a lot of comic relief. I can't figure out if she's a lesbian or if she just would sleep with anything that moves..

Rune Venus

Rune Venus is Princess Fatora's older sister. She is engaged to Galus, though it's pretty obvious that she's not too happy about it. When Mr. Fujisawa and Makoto arrive at her palace she see's the uncanny alikeness between her younger sister (Fatora) who's been kidnapped. She asks Makoto to dress up like her little sister and go before the kingdom, to avoid having to tell the public about the kidnapping. She then asks Makoto and Mr. Fujisawa to go find the Mt. Muloon Priestesses so that they might unleash the Eye of God and restore peace to the kingdom.

In My Opinion: Rune Venus has a lot of worries on her mind. Poor girl. I think that makes her uptight and she reminds me a lot of Miz

Ifurita

Ifurita is the demoness that transported Makoto, Jinnai, Nanami, and Mr. Fujisawa to El Hazard one night. She is the ultimate weapon and has lain asleep for many centuries. I believe that she is commanded by whoever holds the power key staff. She is also needed to activate the Eye of God.

In My Opinion: Whew! To have power like THAT, Ifurita is an important character, though, having only seen the first 3 tapes of the 1st OAV, I haven't seen much personality. She's like a robot.

Mr. Fujisawa

Mr. Fujisawa is a teacher at Shininome High School, he's working late one night and he accidentally gets transported to El Hazard along with everyone else on campus (good thing that little accident happened at night). In El Hazard Mr. Fujisawa has super strength, well, whenever he's sober anyway. Poor guy, has quite a drinking problem. Miz Mishtal- the eldest of the Muldoon Priestesses falls in love with him.

In My Opinion: Mr. Fujisawa's a good guy. Needs to work on that nasty little habit of drinking too much though. Not a bad character, but I don't paticurally care for him.

Galus

Galus, he's one of the Shadow People though his fiancee Rune Venus doesn't know that. He's marrying her to make the Shadow People stronger so that maybe they can take over El Hazard.

In My Opinion:Galus, he seems like kinda a dull character, but I suppose that he has his moments. Poor Rune Venus, I think that the snake would marry the living body armor to get into the family.

Jinnai Katsuhiki

Jinnai, in Japan, the corrupt, power hungry Student Body president, in El Hazard, the corrupt, power hungry bugrom leader. He's the bad guy. When he's transported to El Hazard he's given the power to be able to communicate with the Bugrom the way that Makoto is able to activate the ancient relics and his sister is able to see through the disguises of the Shadow People. When he meets the Bugrom they take him to their queen, Queen Diva. She's almost as evil as he is, and I suppose that's why she falls in love with him.

In My Opinion:Jinnai is definently my favorite character in this series. I love the way that he's animated, he looks alot different from other anime characters. He also has a laugh to end all evil laughs. Evil and corrupt, he's my kinda person :)

Queen Diva

Queen Diva, the bugrom queen. She was the ruler of the Bugrom before Jinnai came along. I don't mean the he kicked her out of power, but she was so facinated with his evil plots to destroy the enemy, that she willingly handed over her power, and now she's his wicked 'assistant', if you will..

In My Opinion:Queen Diva's alright, the fact that she just turns over the whole Bugrom nation to a complete stranger at basically the drop of a hat tells me something about her intellegence level...

Bugrom

The Bugrom, the strongest evil force in El Hazard, an army of bugs that speak french. There's not much to be said about them, their intelligence level is limited and they understand only each other, Jinnai and Queen Diva.

In My Opinion:I like the bugrom, they're cute :) I think it was clever how they were named after the 5 Marx Brothers, well.. except Margaret :)
