A very special vintage (1935-1950) set of Libbey graceful Art Deco pieces in emerald/Killarney Green Glass: two tumblers and two matching bowls.
The tumblers feature an elegant but subtle drapery motif on opposite sides, while the bowls are simplicity itself. Fine gold is applied to the rims of both tumblers and bowls by Lotus glass decorators.
This Killarney Green Glass color was also available in 1930's vintage Libbey goblet stems. This is contemporanious with the period when Arthur Douglas Nash, of the famous Nash family of Tiffany fame, did over 80 designs of Elegant tableware for Libbey Glass Company. Fine gold trimmed rims were a favorite design feature of A. Douglas Nash.
All items are in very good condition, with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The tumblers show moderate wear on the gold trim and a few, very minor abrasions. The bowls are marked on the bottom, with a script L molded in the glass.
We have a total of nine of the bowls.
