Introduced in the spring of 1993, the Limited Edition (LE) Miata is perhaps the most unique of any Miata ever produced. Only 1,500 1993 Limited Edition Miatas were sold in the United States. Each Miata was shipped with a unique Key FOB with the 1993 Limited Edition serial number printed on it. This is not the same serial
number as the VIN number and the two numbers appears to not correlate in any way.
If you have a 1993 LE (or know somebody who does) and don't know the sequence number, call Mazda Customer Service (1-800-222-5500) and give them your VIN. The VIN is located on a tag at the back of the dash where it meets the base of the windshield on the driver's side of the car. Mazda Customer Service can do a little checking and call you back with your sequence number!
