At 18, Oded joined the Israeli Navy for his 3 year tour of duty in the Natonal Service. After the tour was over, he moved to Germanyto work with his father in his business. Taking some acting classes convinced him he wanted to be an actor rather than a businessman. His next move was to London, where he enriolled in the Bristol Old Vic and studied for the next three years. A few months after he graduated, he was cast in the remake of 'The Mummy'.
