Low Cal Gingerbread Cookies

1 1/2 C all purpose flour
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp freshly ground nutmeg
1/8 tsp ground cloves
1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/4 cup packed dark brown sugar
1/4 cup molasses
1 egg white
3/4 cup confectioners' sugar

Heat oven to 350.  Sift together first six ingredients onto waxed paper.  In a large bowl, beat together next four ingredients.  Gradually beat in flour mixture until blended.  Divide dough in half;  wrap one half in plastic and chill.  On a lightly floured surface, roll out remaining dough 1/8 thick.  Cut with cookie cutters and arrange 1/2 inch apart on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.  Repear with reserved dough.  Bake 8 minutes, or until edges are lightly browned.  Transfer cookies to wire rack to cool completel.  In a bowl, combine confectioners' sugar and 2 1/2 teaspoons water until smooth.  Transfer to a heavy-duty plastic bag; snip off a tiny corner and decorate cookies.
