Children's Passover Study: |
NOTE: My regular site is not working, so I am putting the children's Passover study here for now until the other site is up and running again. When the regular site is up and running I will move the study over there (Texicansrus' Home Page) I have used the Haggadha from the Karaite-Korner. This way the children and the parents have the same note, and are on the same page. The introduction to the Haggadha is located here (Introduction). The Haggadha is located here. (Haggadha) Also, Passover, Our True Independence Day - By: HakHam Meir Yosef Rekhavi The Lesson Plan is located Here. (Children's Passover Lesson Plan) The page might take a little bit to load since there are a lot of questions, and vocabulary words. Usually I give the definitions to the words, but this time I didn't. The older children can find the definitions on their own. This will help them with learning to look up words in the dictionary, and will also help them learn to find the right definition for the word in which it is used in the Torah. The younger children can write a sentence with each word, in order to show that they understand the meaning. With the names and places, the children can give a short description of the person or place. And with the Hebrew words, the children can write out what the word is and it's correct spelling in English. If you have any trouble loading the coloring pages, or the studies then please email me and let me know. If you have any questions or comments, please email me also and let me know. Thank you, and I hope everyone has a blessed and Joyful Passover and Days of Unleavened Bread. :0) |
Activities: 1. Print out questions from the Passover Lesson Plan. Cut the questions out into slits of paper and fold in half. Place the slits of paper into a bowl. After the Passover meal, and after the Exodus story is read and disscussed, pass the bowl around. Everyone (one at a time) should take a question out of the bowl. The person that reads the question gets to try to answer the question first. If the person gets the question right, they get a treat. Or you can keep points. Keep passing the bowl around one person and one question at a time. After all the questions are answered, tally up the points. The winner is the one with the most points. You can also have one child pick a question out of the bowl to read (to practice reading), and then the adults answer the questions. 2. copy each question onto an index card, or cut the questions out into slits of paper after printing them out. Lay the cards or paper face down. You will need one dice to play the Passover game. Each player needs to get some kind of marker. You can use chess pieces or game pieces from another game, or each person can have their own piece of colored paper cut into a small square or circle or triangle. Immagination counts here. ;) Each player rolls the dice to see who will be the first player. The one who rolls the 1 (or nearest to) is the first player. Then everyone will go around clockwise, or counter clockwise from the #1 player. Roll the dice. Pick up a card or slit of paper and read the question aloud. If you get the question right, you get to move the number of squares you rolled. If you get the answer wrong, the person next in line gets to roll and then tries to answer the question. If that person gets it right he/she gets to move the number of spaces he/she has rolled. If not, the next person rolls and tries to answer the question. If the question can not be answered, put it aside and pick another card or slit of paper. No one moves until the question is answered or unless the turn has come back to player 1 and then a new question is picked. Move along the playing board. Some of the squares will tell you that you need to move ahead, or back so many spaces, and some will tell you to go to the start, etc.. What every square you land on, if it has instructions for you to do something, then you need to do that. NOTE: I don't have the board ready yet for the game yet. Hopefully I will have it ready "before" Passover, so please check back to download the board game. |
