The fire department started in 1974 with 1 pumper truck and no firehall and today has 2 pumpers, a rescue/salvage vehicle, a 4X4 pick-up, and a 4X4 utility vehicle. Four of the trucks are housed in the 2-bay firehall located in the center of town on the main road along side the town office.
