To say that Torch's past is complicated is an understatement.He exploded into the wrestling scene, most importantly, the TFWF in January 2001 with a small yet exciting feud with Peacemaker. They didnt know it yet, but their paths would cross many times, in many bloody wars, and when it was all said and done their feud was just the rekindeling of past endeavors.Torch came into the TFWF as an ex-con hired by the Management to take over the Hardcore scene, his main target Tremere and Killboy. Although the Managment didnt allow Torch into his legendary group the Firm-Court, Torch was his henchman.But before Torch could face Tremere or Killboy, he faced off against the Peacemaker thanks to a disagreement. Torch offered a partnership to fellow TFWF rookie Peacemaker wich was rejected and turned into a challenge.Both men fought for the first of many battles in wich Torch lost.During the spring of 2001 the Hardcore title scene became one of the most intresting divisions in the wrestling industry.8 diffrent men contested for that title, two of those being Peacemaker and Torch. When it was all said and done and summer rolled in Torch was the bearer of the Hardcore title.His title reign started in early spring (March) and ended when Crybaby pinned him in a tarheel match. Although the descicion was reversed and the title was returned to Torch, Crybaby had destroyed the title reign.During this time Torch joined his old rival's Peacemaker's Hardcore Haven..After regaining the title back a challenge by Killboy was issued towards Torch.During this feud Missy appeared into the life of Torch, Missy was Killboy's daughter who became infatuated with Torch even though her uncle detested him. At Death or Glory 2001 Torch and Killboy went toe to toe in a bloddy Ladder Match for the Hardcore title.At the end of the match the plan was revealed. Torch had turned his back on his friend's the Haven and joined his love intrest Missy in the Rezerection.This new alliance did not last long as Killboy was taken out of action late June and never returned till his retirement match. Peacemaker seeking revenge for Torch's betrayal and Torch looking for Intercontinental Gold went toe to toe at Dependence Day 2. But this match had serious implications. Before July 4th, 2001 Torch and everyone else thought that he was raised in jail after burning his parents up in his own home. But in truth that was a lie implanted in the brain of Torch by Peacemaker. Seems as though Torch and Peacemaker where both partners in the FBI, then known as Sean Smithe (Torch) and Lucas Rancor (maker). When they where assigned the case of catching the ruthless criminal known as The Peacemaker. Torch eventually found out who Maker was and went to confront him but was ambushed and beaten half to death.His memory was erased and implanted with new ones.This revelation shocked Torch and the entire public.This sent Torch on a satanic route taking the entire Rezerection with him. For the end of the 2001 year Torch and the Rezeretion where barely quiet, only memorable points where Samson's abduction and Creme de la Creme's infatuation with Torch.But as November rolled through Tremere and Killboy had retired. Insane Asylum had stolen the Hour of Power collection Money and Torch had alligned himself with a person more evil than Satan or Peacemaker, THE MANAGEMENT in a deal where Torch got respect and The Management got his hencheman back.For the rest of 2001 Torch fought alongside his Rezerection allies and once again captured the European title by defeating Chad in a Devil's Playground match. Torch eventually dropped the title. At the end of 2001 Torch took a more sinister side by kidnapping Henry Winkler,Chad's Gimp and former TFWF star Razer as a way of mind games against Crybaby,Chad and Phenom as a buildup to the Ice Storm 2k1 match.Torch lost and in an act of Rage killed Razer. It was later revealed that Razer was Chris Chaos' brother.Torch had apparently died by then also and was taken over by Sean Smythe.Smythe and Chaos had a bloody battle over the death of Razer and the Intercontinental title all through early 2002 that culminated in a bloody Circle of Blood match at Night of Revolution 2. Now Sean Smythe has one goal only, to defeat the man who took his identity, Lucas Racnor a.k.a. Peacemaker.
