THE VICTIM'S PRAYER BY: Tori Lynn Here I lay Lord torn and tattered Tell me dear Lord, what is the matter? Are people like me meant to suffer this way, to never know peace not even for a day? Oh I cry out! Please right this terrible wrong. Set society right to hear our bleeding song. Don't let those who have died die in vain. Don't let there be killers on Earth to remain. But still I know this much is true, we as victims have much to do. We must fight for our children and their tomorrows, so that they will never know or experience our sorrows. Guide us dear Lord I cry. That not one more victim must senselessly die ~Amen~ |

A POEM FROM MY YOUTH BY: Tori Lynn (age 12) Easter Lily pure and white guiding and guarding me to the light. Oh my Savior you died that I might have life. You stretched out you arms on a cross for me to bear all my sin, shame, and iniquity. You showed your love without hesitation and indoing so gave me the gift of salvation. For all those who are lost, I pray they be found and harken to hear thy heavenly trumpets sound. Oh call on me Lord let me serve as it is your will. I am a Christian dear Lord, and I know that is part of the deal. |

I dedicate this page, and all of its contents to my sister "Janie" who is in heaven now and can no longer be hurt by Domestic Violence. Please pray for her children; two little girls caught up in this tragedy . They have been left behind, and without their mother, or father (who commited suicide after killing our precious Janie). This should never happen to anyone. Least of all someone as special as my sister Janie. I miss her very much, but I know she is in heaven now, and she is not a victim anymore, or suffering; I can at least find some peace in that. ~ I love you Janie. |

The Celtic Cross (Irish Christian Symbol of life Eternal) - this is a very prominent symbol in my family being that we are of Irish Heritage. The Celtic Cross, and Claddaugh (the Irish Wedding Band) were introduced to me by my father when I was very young. He always use to tell me about Irish folklore, and legends of the "old country" as he called it. I realish the time I had with him, and reflect on them often. My father was Fredrick Marvin Ryan (1898 - 1970). I so admired him for his dedictation to family, as well as to my mother who abused him; mentally, verbally, and physically. Inspite of this though, he never layed a hand on her. He was gentliest of men I have ever known. He truly honored the symbolism of the claddaugh which is the crown for loyalty and the heart for love embrassed in hands for friendship. If you ever get a chance to see either a Celtic Cross or a Claddaugh ring, please do. They are wonderful symbols of Irish Heritage. (perhaps you might see the ring I wear in some of my photograghs. |

~The Writer Within Me~ That was the tiitle of the first essay I ever in College. I never anticipated the door to creativity that that experience would open up for me. I absolutely love reading, writing, journaling, and poetry. One of my current projects is a series of three books which center on my life as a Domestic Violence Victim. They are meant to be self help books primarilly for victims of Domestic Violence, but these topics could apply to many areas; Domestic Violence in the Biological Family, in the Foster Care System, in the Adoptive Family, and in Marriage (also the stats on each). This series will cover the important topic of recovery and healing as well. In my 35 years of life I have know and had 18 abusers, so I feel very qualified to write this series of self help books. I hope it will help lessen the pain for someone out there. I also would love to write a series of children's book and ilustrate them as well. That has always been a dream of mine, and I look forward to doing that in the furture. |

Blessed are the Peacemakers, For they shall be called the sons (and daughters) of God. [Mark 5:9] There is no greater thirsty or hunger than for that of our Lord. He loves you so. |
