Queen West recipients' support group The group meets monthly (third Friday of the month) at the Queen West Health Centre at 168 Bathurst Street. The Health Centre is on the south-west corner of Bathurst and Queen, just south of Pizza Pizza and the building where Healey's nightclub used to be. The elevator in the centre is good, but please note that both Bathurst St. and Queen are served by streetcars so in a way the area is not very wheelchair-accessible, especially in winter. |
The streetcars issue actually boiled up for the August meeting -- the C.N.E. was on (we did not realize this, in our planning) and the system was full to capacity and you pretty much had to walk, from Bloor -- or at least from Dundas St... Sorry, sorry sorry. |
The next meeting is scheduled to for Friday November 20, 2009. Please note the change, eg. we've changed the meetings to the third Friday of the month, instead of the third Monday |
Queen St. East wasn't any better, in August: it was completely shut down between Jarvis and Victoria Sts. The September meeting was good but only a handful of people attended. Margaret mentioned that if you are working in a given sequence of months it's a good plan to have a PHOTOCOPY of the Employment Income and Training Report (E.I.T.R. ) forms handy. That way you can fax in your info directly your pay cheque, if any, arrives. Again this would be of interest to people who are working. |
