Part 5
I woke up, rubbing my eyes and slowly slipping away from Kaoru. I
slipped
out of the warmth of the blanket and walked out of the bedroom quietly,
silently wishing I was wearing clothing. I shivered in the cool air as I
stretched, yawning loudly. Now...to get some food.
As I was peering through all of Kaoru's food (which was mostly American
leftover takeout and beer, yummy isn't it?) someone walked up behind and
pinched my ass cheek. I yelped and turned to see Kaoru, who started laughing
at the look on my face.
"Aw. So kawaii." he teased as he pinched my cheek. I slapped
his hand away
and stuck my tongue out at him.
"Stop it, Kaoru. I'm not kawaii." I said grumpily and Kaoru
laughed again.
He laid a soft kiss on my cheek.
"Whatever you say, Kyo-chan. Are you hungry?" he asked and my
stomach
growled in response. I ducked my head, turning a dark red and he smiled.
"I'll take that as a yes.." Kaoru said, with a smile on his
face. Now I
felt at ease around him, he didn't look so serious and leader-like now.
I quickly sat down at the table, propping my elbows up and resting my
head
on my hands. Kaoru shuffled around the kitchen trying to find something to
eat. I had to let a grin slip as he looked confused.
"Kyo, you stay here. I don't have anything acceptable for
breakfast so I'll
get us something. I'll be back in a little." said Kaoru and with that he was
gone. I sulked and pouted, getting up from the table and kicking the leg of
it.
"Kuso. Kuso. Kuso!" I cursed and walked out of the kitchen.
Now what was I
going to do? I don't want to go back to sleep cause Kaoru can be back any
time now.
I hummed a soft little tune as I walked down the hall, peeking into all
the
rooms. I stopped again when I looked in to Kaoru's little study, there was a
file open on his desk. I slowly walked in and over to the desk, picking up
the file.
"What the..." I said as my eyes scanned over it. It was a
criminal record
of himself.
"Murder, murder, harrassment, destruction of property, arson, more
murder..." I whispered, staring with wide eyes at the list.
I flipped the page in the file to a second page, this one had my
personal
records. Kaoru must've been messing with it since my real name was erased
with the simple kanji of my new name. I winced when I saw at the bottom the
words, "Missing."
"I'm not missing you asses. I was thrown out, not my fault my
parent's
can't make up their minds about keeping me." I grumbled and flipped the
page. This one looked like Kaoru's record except it was mostly empty except
for the words "petty theft."
Wait, this meant he wanted me to do the same thing he does. I slammed
the
file on the desk and shook my head wildly. No way, no how, no no no! I
couldn't just kill someone! Theft was one thing, death was another! I
noticed how much my hands were trembling and I heard the door open.
"Kyo-chan, I brought some food for us! Come on out of where ever
you are
and let's eat." called out Kaoru and I shook even more. Everything just
seemed to change from this weird romp of sex and a little dash of blood to
realizing THIS was my life.
"Kyo...?" questioned Kaoru, his voice getting closer. I sunk
to the floor
and drew up my knees to my chest, still trembling and shaking. He looked in
and saw me there, with my eyes wide and frightened looking. Kaoru ran over
and knelt down beside me, trying to place his hand on my shoulder. I quickly
drew away from him, shaking my head.
"What is it, Kyo?" he asked in this soothing voice, slowly
trying to touch
me again. I didn't resist this time, letting myself be pulled into his
embrace.
I buried my face into his shirt, still shaking. He just held me and ran
his
hands up and down my back, trying to calm my seemingly shattered nerves. I
finally calmed myself, resting silently in Kaoru's arms.
"I don't want to be like you." I said after a period of
silence. I raised
my eyes to look at him and he furrowed his brow.
"What do you mean?" he asked me, brushing his hand over my
cheek.
"I don't want to kill anyone! I read that file! You want me to
have a
record too! I don't want to kill! No!" I raised my voice, letting it all
stumble out at once. He seemed to draw back for a little, his eyes clouding
before settling again.
"You won't, Kyo. You don't have to kill or harm a single person
unless
there is a dire need." soothed Kaoru, slowly bringing me to my feet. He
smiled at me and lead me out, grasping my hands tenderly between his.
"Come on, Kyo. Let's get some food in your little body." said
Kaoru and
took me to the kitchen. I sat down infront of the food he had laid out and
began inhaling most of it, after all it's been maybe a week since I last
ate. Kaoru just picked at his food, mostly watching me eat with a pleased
look on his face.
The doorbell rung, interrupting our meal, and Kaoru's face drew into a
frown. He placed his chopsticks down and stood.
"I'll get it." He quickly said and shuffled out of the room.
I stood and
slowly peeked my head out of the doorway, but trying to stay hidden from
view. Kaoru opened the door and both of us were greeted with one hell of a
sight.
I was nearly visibly drooling when I laid eyes on the boy behind the
door.
He was tall and lanky with dark sparkling eyes and dark blue hair. His hair
was long and drawn up in the back and his face was done in beautiful dark
eyeliner with dark red lipstick. He was in a dark tight miniskirt type dress
that barely covered anything. The boy's long legs were covered in dark thigh
high stockings that connected to garters with high black heels.
"Hello Toshiya, playing little messenger boy again?" asked
Kaoru, folding
his arms and smirking at the pretty young man.
"No, I'm here to come beg for you to take me. Please Kaoru.
Please." said
Toshiya in a very bored and sarcastic tone. Kaoru raised an eyebrow at
Toshiya then shook his head in disbelief.
"Now really, what have you to bring me this time?" asked
Kaoru and Toshiya
waved around a white envelope in his perfectly manicured hand.
"A job here for you. Supposedly it's big important stuff since
they made me
rush all the way over here to give it to you." said Toshiya still sounding
like he was completely bored with this whole idea and handed the envelope to
Kaoru. Then he was about to turn and leave before he stopped.
"I heard you got a new pet, Kaoru-san. Where is he? Can I meet
him?" asked
Toshiya, looking around trying to move past Kaoru into the house. Kaoru's
face turned dark and blocked him.
"He's resting right now. Besides, don't you have Die to go home
to?" asked
Kaoru, his eyes filled with an unleashed venom.
"Hai..but I just want to see the little thing that is preoccupying
my
Die-sama." said Toshiya, but he turned and left without another word. Kaoru
closed the door and did all the locks before proceeding back to the kitchen.
I slid back into my seat, poking at the rest of my food before he came in to
cover-up that I was watching.
"I knew you were watching, Kyo." said Kaoru simply, taking
his seat at the
other side of the table. Damnit, how did he always figure me out?
"You're as easy to read as a book, Kyo. You have to learn to be a
bit more
sneaky around here." said Kaoru, smirking at me and I ducked my head
grumbling.
I watched as he opened the white envelope and removed a letter with
some
pictures. His eyes skimmed over them, looking vaguely interested then he
took a peek at the pictures.
"Well..?" I expectantly asked, eager to hear what it was he
had in his
hands. He looked me over and looked like he was thinking about really
telling me.
"It's a..job. I am needed with a few others to go look in on some
matters.
It's nothing, I can get it done tonight." said Kaoru, taking a sip from his
glass. I inhaled and prepared to say what I wanted to.
"Kaoru-san...I want to come along on your job." I said evenly
and Kaoru
nearly choked on his drink.
"You..want to do what?!" he asked, placing his drink down
with slightly
shaking hands.
"I want to come along. You said it's nothing and I won't be a
bother. I
just don't want to be alone in the apartment tonight.." I said, trying to
explain myself to him.
"Kyo. You KNOW what I do for a job. You actually want to come
along? If so,
you need to get dressed. I'm sure you can find something that'll fit you in
the boxes in the closet." said Kaoru.
"Our objective it says we must go collect money from a group of
people.
This is their fourth offense against us in not giving us our payment and
it's the end of the line. We may need to..take them out if we don't get the
money. Are you really sure you want to come along?" asked Kaoru quietly,
slowly sliding the pictures to me. I glanced them over seeing the targets,
they all looked old and tough - like they could pulverize us in minutes. I
nodded my head and slid the pictures back to him.
"Hai. I want to be with you, Kaoru. As long as I don't have
to.." I said
trailing off and he nodded.
"Don't worry. I'll take care of you so you won't have to hurt
anyone." said
Kaoru and I smiled faintly at him.
"So...when do we leave?" I asked as I stood from the table.
He raised an
eyebrow towards me and got up.
"You know..you're pretty eager for a person who won't do anything
but stand
there." said Kaoru as he lead me out of the room towards his study again.
We walked into the study and Kaoru walked over to a huge cabinet. He
took a
key out of his pocket and unlocked the cabinet, opening it up. Inside were
more guns than I have EVER seen in my life - from handguns to what seemed to
be rifles.
"Ta da." said Kaoru simply, gesturing towards all the guns
and I gawked.
"How..what..?" I stuttered, staring at all the guns and
ammunition. Kaoru
began turning me around and pushing me towards the door.
"Go get dressed. I'll prepare everything in here." said Kaoru
calmly,
pushing me out the door and closing the door behind him.
I went to our bedroom and went into the closet, searching through the
clothing he had in there. I chose the outfit closest to my size and pulled
out a dress shirt and black pants. I slipped into them before grabbing the
suit coat, carrying it as I walked out. It felt good to be back in clothes -
a little restricting, but good enough. I entered the study again where Kaoru
was loading up two guns, he looked at me and handed me a small handgun.
"You don't have to use it, just keep it for serious
emergencies." he simply
said, as he put his gun away in the back of his pants. Kaoru put on his
jacket and obscured the gun from view. (Author's Note: Don't you just love
that in movies? When they pull a gun that they had hooked in the back of
their pants out and just start blasting away? Especially when it's done with
two guns. ^_^) I followed suit and slipped my suit jacket on. He put his arm
around my shoulder and smirked.
"I guess we're ready." he said, as we walked out of the
apartment.
We could have never have known what would have happened next..and god I
wish we did.
