Part 6
Time seemed to slip by as Kaoru and I met up with a few other
unfamiliar
faces..except for two - Die and Toshiya. Both dressed in pure black but
Toshiya in a skirt. Kaoru vaguely acknowleged their presence before gripping
my hand in his and pulling me away from them.
"Now, at exactly 19:00 we will go to the resident of
our..'clients'. Then
whatever happens in there is a free for all, but we're there to collect the
money. Remember that. So no killing the figurehead till we get it." said
Kaoru in this utmost serious and leader sounding voice.
After that the time seemed to fly by as everyone got themselves
prepared. A
few who weren't carrying guns were shadowboxing in training for a full out
battle. Die was staring at me as if he was trying to psyche me out and
Toshiya was undressing me with his eyes. Okay, now I'm getting a little
worried here.
Kaoru was too busy setting up plans and reviewing the letter he got
with
others in the group. I sat off to the side shuffling my feet trying to avoid
looking over in Die and Toshiya's direction. I couldn't help it though, the
curiousity to see if they were still looking overran my better judgement.
Since I should be scared of Die cause he tried to grope me in the hallway,
but no I look over instead.
Luckily, Die wasn't looking at me anymore but Toshiya was. His gaze
burned
into me like a hot poker. It was filled with a certain hatred, lust, and
heavy desire. I stared into his eyes for a little before I broke the gaze,
turning my attention to Kaoru's back.
He must've felt my heavy stare and turned to look at me. I slightly
gestured over my shoulder and he glanced at Toshiya and Die.
"Kyo, come here." he ordered and I immediately obeyed. He
pulled me aside
and leaned down to brush his lips against mine.
"I have to go do something very important. I'll be back very soon.
Don't
get yourself into any trouble." he said, smiling slightly at me as he ran
his hand over my slightly flushed cheek.
I watched him go off and smiled faintly, till I felt someone's hand
trace
down my neck. I shiver slightly and turn around, seeing a smirking Toshiya.
"What do you want?" I asked, trying to cover up my discomfort
of being
around him. He put his hands on his hips and looked me over.
"So you're with Kaoru?" he questioned, his eyes burning into
mine.
"Yeah I am. What's it to you?" I shot back and raised an
eyebrow at him. He
shrugged and smiled slightly at me.
"Just wondering..he's quite a catch. I can see why he chose you so
easily..I bet you're a wild little thing in bed. A tad too eager to submit
though.." said Toshiya with this certain smirk on his face. I took a step
back from him, a tad fearful.
As if he knew he was saving me from any further conversation, Kaoru
came
into the room and Toshiya turned and walked away. I quickly scurried over to
him and he looped his arm around me in a very posessive way.
"Come on. It's time." he said quietly to me and I nodded.
I barely glanced over my shoulder, seeing a very angry and sulky
looking
Toshiya before I'm pulled out the door. The sun was setting and the sky was
turning dark. Kaoru gestured for me to get in to the car idle in front of
the building and he climbed in after I did. I glanced out the window at the
other dark cars being occupied with people, including Die and Toshiya in the
one behind us.
The driver offered Kaoru a cigarette and Kaoru took it gladly. He lit
up
the cigarrete and took a drag. He smiled down at me and gestured a little.
"You should stay in the car for this.." said Kaoru and I
stopped him,
shaking my head.
"Hey. I'm a big boy. I can handle this, all right? Don't need any
special
treatment." I said defiantly, smiling slightly.
Kaoru shook his head and said, "As you wish, my pet." as he
gathered me
closer, smoking away quietly. The rest of the ride was quiet except for the
occasional quiet conversation which usually lapsed into silence again. I
thought of what was to come and why did Toshiya seem so envious of me. Was
it because I was with Kaoru? Was Die that bad?
We pulled infront of an office building, which I stared up at in slight
worry. How were we going to get past security? Kaoru climbed out and I
followed, along with the other people in the car.
"Stay behind me." ordered Kaoru as we walked into the
building. The
security guards moved in to stop us, but Kaoru just gave them a small hand
signal.
"Where's the office?" Kaoru asked in the same cold voice I
heard when I
first saw him torture that man to death.
"....Basement floor. He's hiding down there." said the
security guard
reluctantly, but stepped away. Hell, he knew better not to mess with a large
group of people with guns. A few of them stayed on the ground floor,
agreeing to watch the exits. I followed Kaoru into the elevator down to the
basement floor.
Kaoru pulled out his gun from the back of his pants as soon as the
elevator
doors opened. Two men who were standing outside the elevator saw us and went
to draw their guns. In a flash, Kaoru sent bullets flying into them, their
bodies sinking to the floor in a bloody heap. The rest of the group went on
ahead, to clear the way as we trailed behind them.
I heard sounds of a fight ahead, then loud sound of a gunshot. I bit my
lip
and look worriedly around. I saw Die and Toshiya ahead of us and Die turned
to Kaoru.
"One of our group is down. Keep your eye out, they were hiding
well. He's
gotten better since the last time. So watch out for your...pet." said Die.
"I'll keep that in mind." said Kaoru and he took my hand. We
hurried on
ahead the hallways littered with fighting, holding off security guards for
us.
Kaoru and I came face to face with the person we came for. Kaoru
grinned
ferociously at the man behind the desk. Instead of being terrified, the man
lit up a cigar and smirked back at Kaoru.
"Ah. Kaoru-san. What a pleasent surprise to see you here."
said the man
dryly as he leaned back in his overstuffed chair. Kaoru was unfazed and
aimed his gun at the man.
"Higuchi-san, where is our money?" questioned Kaoru, pulling
back the
hammer on the gun. His eyes pierced into Higuchi's and finally managed to
make him look at least slightly nervous.
"Kaoru-san, can't we talk this out? You don't understand what kind
of
financial trouble I'm in!" he exclaimed as he smashed his cigar out and
looked around the room nervously. I managed to catch in the corner of my eye
a flash of movement..someone else was in here.
"You don't understand what kind of trouble you're in right now. If
you
don't have it, say sayonara to all this." said Kaoru simply and he was about
to pull the trigger. I heard someone pull theirs and I pushed Kaoru and
myself to the ground. The bullet embedded itself into the wall.
"K'so!" cursed Kaoru as his gun was kicked out of his hand. I
was shoved
out of the way as the armed man aimed his gun towards Kaoru's temple. My
mind rushed and I panicked. I stood up and pulled out the gun that Kaoru
gave me and I aimed. The next thing I remember was my finger pulling the
trigger and everything seemed to go into slow motion.
The next thing I knew was the bullet hit the man straight in the back
of
the head. The skull, skin, and blood just flew from where the bullet hit.
His body crumpled to the floor next to Kaoru. Kaoru got up with wide eyes
looking towards me. I opened my mouth to say something, but suddenly a
stinging, bright flash of pain overcame me. Then I looked down to see a rush
of crismon run out of my shoulder where a bullet from Higuchi.
"KYO!" was Kaoru's last scream as I crumpled to the ground.
