"Kyo was right…I’m breaking us apart…"
Kaoru sighed and Toshiya gave him a sympathetic look. Die leaned back on his chair and shut his eyes. Shinya had gone out dating Taka and the red head decided that it would be too painful for him to watch. The other guitarist, who sat opposite him, could see the faint trace of tears on his left cheek. He turned to Toshiya and the bassist was trying not to cry. They were shocked when Die said Shinya went out for a date…
I can’t believe it…I know Shinya loves Die…but he sees another man…Toshiya couldn’t help feeling really guilty. He was the one who suggested the idea of breaking up. And Die didn’t know that…if Die found out he would Die. The red head would probably strangle him and hung his dead body somewhere down the road. Everytime he saw Die and Shinya her remembered what he did…that scary feeling haunted him even more knowing Shinya was with another man …
Kaoru touched his hand and held it tightly making Toshiya think he could read his mind. As if telling the bassist that he would never let Die did that to him.
Toshiya smiled.
The doorbell rung. Kaoru walked across the room lazily and opened the door. He came in with Kyo. Die opened his eyes, saw Kyo and closed his eyes again. Toshiya gulped. Kaoru looked worried. Kyo looked surprise.
"Die…what are you doing here? Aren’t you supposed to watch the date?" Kaoru nudged him but he walked towards the head and sat down beside him. "Maybe it’s too painful to watch?" Kyo asked.
Die opened his eyes and glared at him, "What are you doing here?" Die sounded cold. The vocalist bit his lip thinking hard. Should he or shouldn’t he? Kaoru sat down opposite Die pulling Toshiya to his lap. They heard Kyo sighed.
"I’m not…" Kyo didn’t finish the sentence.
"Nani?" Die asked looking at him suspiciously. Slight tinge of pink appeared on Kyo’s cheeks. He took a deep breath.
"I need your help…" Die moved forward and so did Kaoru. Toshiya placed himself on the chair opposite Kyo and everyone looked at the small guy weirdly.
"Taka’s birthday is this weekend and they’re having a party in his house. Then they will go out and have drinks somewhere…I’m here not because I want to help you getting Shinya back! But I want you to help me taking care of him. One part of me wants you to be there but another part of me begs you not to follow Shinya again" Kyo ended the sentence softly.
Die rolled his eyes to the glass in front of him then back to Kyo’s face.
"But you want me to help you too…" Die smiled.
"Why?" Toshiya suddenly asked.
Kyo pouted, "I fell asleep almost all the time and for the past few days I woke up finding myself alone in the dark…and I couldn’t find Shinya" The small guy studied his fingers and Die nodded, "I was there…"
"He told me Taka tried to do something…" Kyo whispered. Die widened his eyes and reached out. Kyo gasped as Die pulled his shirt.
"Why didn’t I know that?!" he hissed. Toshiya looked at Kaoru and the purple head moved forward.
Kyo pushed Die’s hand away, "Exactly! You were there but didn’t really know things that happened!" Kyo glared at the red head. Die bit his lip and glared back at him. What Kyo said was right!
"That’s why Die…don’t even bother looking after Shinya…he knows what to do…" Kyo raised both his hands trying to tell Die that Shinya didn’t need "A jealous ex boyfriend stalking him! If Shinya finds out…" the small man didn’t finish the sentence. Die stared at him for a long long time.
"But you need my help…that’s why you’re here right?" Die eyed him suspiciously. Kyo bit his lip before nodding to the older man. Toshiya raised both eyebrows, "Hold on! Why do you need Die’s help? I thought you were really against him!" Kaoru nodded.
"Because Die doesn’t trust me and I’m hurt…"
Die was startled…and utterly speechless. Kyo…hurt? Now…he didn’t only hurt Alisa Shinya…but Kyo too…? The red head leaned back on his chair. He looked shocked!
"That’s why I want to let him know that I can take care of Shinya…I can be his friend!" Kyo gulped. Toshiya looked at him suspiciously confusedly. If Kyo was so sure he could then why did he need Die’s help? Unless…
"But the thing is…sometimes I felt that…Shinya was so far away! And he made me worried day by day…like…" Kyo winced as he touched his chest. Kaoru widened his eyes looking at Kyo warily. He had seen Die doing the same thing many times…
Kyo looked up and stared at Die. The older man was looking at him. He too felt the same…many times!
"Shinya…I’m so scared something will happen to him…and when the time comes I have this feeling that I can’t help him…that I can’t protect him…"
Kyo gripped his shirt tightly. He could feel it was coming…he told Die that Shinya would be safe with him…but he wasn’t that sure! If something happened to the drummer…Kyo couldn’t even dare to think what would happen to –him-!
Maybe Die would strangle me…but maybe he can’t coz I’ll kill myself before that…
"The gossip is that Taka’s gonna do something with Shinya…" Kyo bit his lip waiting for Die’s reaction. Toshiya widened his eyes and looked at Kaoru. The older man was studying Die’s face. Unexpectedly, Die smiled.
"We won’t let that happen…" Die smiled to the vocalist. Kyo pouted, "I hope so…"
Toshiya sighed and held his face, "I can’t believe that something is going to happen…you know…" he looked at Kyo, "I mean…something bad! We won’t know if it’s coming or not! It’s unexpected!" Kyo glared at him. Die touched the bassist’s shoulder.
"Toshiya…I can feel it…Kyo can feel it too…isn’t it a sign?" he asked.
"Hai hai…besides…what do you know Toshiya? You’re the emotional one…you’re supposed to know these things…maybe you’re jut being insensitive here…" Kyo sneered. Toshiya glared at him while Kaoru shook his head slowly, "Enough guys…" he mumbled.
"I’m not insensitive! I just don’t know what you guys feel! And this is getting…" Toshiya sighed again, "Too complicated!" he pouted.
"Really?" Kyo raised an eyebrow, "Aren’t you the one who started it first? You wanna run away now…?" the vocalist said it almost in a scorn way.
Kaoru glanced at Kyo.
Toshiya held his breath.
Die turned.
"Nani? Who started what…?" Die asked looking at Kyo puzzled. The vocalist shrugged and looked at the red head the same way the older man looked at him.
"What… you…" he stuttered and glanced at Toshiya. The bassist looked pale and Kaoru was glaring at him. Kyo widened his eyes and glanced at Die,
"You…don’t know…"
He finally realized what he had done. Kyo gulped and once again he took a quick look at Toshiya who turned even paler. This time Kaoru held his lover’s hand tightly.
Die narrowed his eyes, thinking…
"Kyo…what do you mean…?" he asked then turned to look at Toshiya and back to the small guy.
"Toshiya…start this?" Kyo froze didn’t know what to say…he thought Die knew…he didn’t know they didn’t tell him at all! He thought Toshiya had made it clear to the red head that he taught Shinya, word by word, how to break up with Die! Shinya told him, everything…so he thought Toshiya had told Die too!
Kaoru sighed.
Toshiya lifted his eyes up and looked at his lover. He knew this was it! He had to do it! So he turned looking at Die.
"Die…I have something to tell you…" he said weakly.
-Few minutes later-
"No…that’s not true…" Die shook his head in disbelief. Toshiya frowned. Kyo looked at him worriedly while Kaoru held the bassist’s hand even tighter.
"Tell me all those fucking words aren’t true!" Die hissed.
There was no reply.
The red head leaned back on the chair still shaking his head.
"You mean…he told you…" Die began and Toshiya merely nodded.
"And you ‘suggested’ that he should dump me before I did it…" the bassist nodded again.
"You taught him…" Die tried to swallow the bitter taste from his mouth…wherever it came from.
"You taught him…sentence by sentence…word by word…everything to say…just to dump me?" Die looked at him in disbelief but Toshiya could only nodded. Why? Because that was the fact! He knew Shinya couldn’t do it by himself so he helped him by teaching him how to!
But he was only joking! Toshiya knew Shinya wouldn’t do that! Then he realized he was wrong…
Die laughed humorlessly and held his head.
"No…I can’t believe this…" he whispered. He couldn’t believe he was right! So Toshiya did play a part in it! He knew it! He knew it!
"Die…I…I didn’t know he was serious! I…" Toshiya held his tears that filled his eyes. He trembled and held Kaoru’s hand even tighter. Kyo looked at the older man guiltily but Kaoru was too busy calming himself down. He wanted to help Toshiya but he knew Toshiya had to do it himself.
"So…if you didn’t ‘suggest’ that idea…Shinya would have been with me…right?" Die narrowed his eyes and stared at Toshiya. The younger man gulped, "I-I think so…" he mumbled. Suddenly he screamed as Die reached out and held his neck tightly (Heh…another scene of Die strangling Totchi!-L7)
"I kill you! I kill you Toshiya…" Die yelled and bit his lip so hard that he could taste blood immediately. Kaoru greeted his teeth and quickly pushed Die away. Kyo stood up but didn’t do anything. What could he do anyway?
Toshiya choked and coughed hard few times. He stood up but quickly fell on Kaoru. The older man wrapped his arms around Toshiya protectively and glared at Die.
"What are you doing?!" Kaoru yelled and quickly switched his attention to his lover. "Are you okay?" the bassist nodded.
"It wasn’t his fault!" Kaoru yelled again at Die. The red head glared at him. He wanted to reach out and grabbed Toshiya out of Kaoru’s arms then dragged him out of the apartment…and hit him! Not just that…he wanted to-
"Die…please! Calm down!" Kyo finally found his voice. Die didn’t hear him.
"I thought we’re friends…" the red head whispered.
"Hai! We are! But I won’t let you hurt Totchi! Whatever he did to you and Shinya! Besides…this wasn’t his fault!" Kaoru held Toshiya tighter in his arms. Kyo frowned seeing him crying. He under stood how Toshiya felt but Die didn’t.
"So it’s mine?" Die asked weakly.
Kaoru gulped and nodded, "-You- started it first!"
Die smiled bitterly, "So now you blame me too…" he nodded, "Okay…" Die turned away and walked towards the exit. He closed the door quietly behind him. Kyo sighed and looked at Kaoru, "Kaoru…I’m so sorry…I didn’t know…"
Kaoru shook his head slowly brushing Toshiya’s hair out of his face. The bassist looked at Kyo with tearful eyes.
"Sooner or later…I had to tell him…now I’m relieved!" Toshiya smiled to the vocalist. Kyo nodded and decided that he should go as soon as possible leaving the lovers alone.
As Kyo reached outside he could see Die’s car was still there…and he could also see the outline of a person, Die sitting in the car. The silhouette was shaking…possibly crying. Kyo didn’t know what to do…he couldn’t think right now…
