Kaoru walked rather quickly, "The doctor is there! Shinya just woke up few hours ago" he lied. The officer nodded his head slowly, "Is your…producer? Is that what he is to you?" Kaoru nodded, "Yoshiki-san" the policeman smiled, "Ah! Hai! Is he here too? I need to talk to him!" Kaoru shook his head, "Iie! But he’s coming! I’ve called him and he’s probably on his way here"

Kyo turned as he saw Kaoru coming back, not with Toshiya, but with a man, who looked oddly familiar.

"Kubota-san?!" the doc exclaimed in surprise. The officer nodded and shook the other man’s hand, "I have some news! We’ve been doing some undercover and-" he stopped. "Maybe we should wait for Yoshiki-san…" Kaoru didn’t pay attention. He looked for Die, but the red head was nowhere to be seen. Then he stared at Kyo.

"Ah, why don’t we wait in out office? We can make a call there too! Come!" the doc offered and Kubota nodded his head. Kaoru was about to leave when the police suddenly grabbed his arm, again.

"Wait! I need to talk to you, too! Last time you’re really helping us!" the detective smiled sadly, "WE need you!"

Kaoru joined his eyebrows, turning his head towards the opposite way. Kyo smiled slowly and walked towards the direction where Toshiya had run.

Kaoru followed the other older men, but couldn’t help eyeing Kyo’s retreating back suspiciously.

"He’s stuck in traffic jam.." Kaoru put his phone in his pocket, "WE have to wait few minutes more…" they had waited for such a long time, but Yoshiki still didn’t appear. So everyone decided to talk without him.

"Our undercover police, they found something about that festival night!" Kubota began, "There’s this man, who helped the festival being held. He was supposed to be there at the opening ceremony. Funny he wasn’t there until the festival started. Then when he and his bunch of followers appeared, he couldn’t stop talking about…his ‘catch’ …"

Kaoru joined his eyebrows, "What do you mean?"

Kubota shook his head, "Well, I’m in the crime department, so I didn’t know anything about some police being placed into under cover. They were there, just to keep things down. But coincidently, few of them met this gang, and felt really suspicious about his ‘catch’"

The doctor nodded, "But we have no proof if the ‘catch’ was Shinya-kun…do we?" the police shook his head, "No, we don’t! but we can show Shinya-kun his picture, and if that face rings some bell.." Yoshida sighed, "I don’t think so…"

"Why?" he turned to Kaoru, "I thought Shinya-kun is awake! He’s conscious now!"

Kaoru and the doctor exchanged looks. The detective nodded after few seconds, "It’s the mental problem, isn’t it? I know it’s quite normal…"

It hurt.

Are you afraid that the whole world knows that you lover was-

Kaoru blinked as somebody touched his arm, "This is the picture of the man, he’s already I our black list!" Kaoru stared at the picture, trying to take the image into his mind, but all he saw was the hurt expression on that pale face, with the reddening cheek, and the hurt in those eyes…

Toshiya…

"What’s his name?"

"Yuzuna"

"Hm. I'll try to find out from some people, they might know something about his man…" the doc put his glasses on the table. Then he realized the youngest man wasn’t really there, "Kaoru-kun! Hey!"

Kaoru jumped as a pat landed on his arm, "Are you okay?" the officer looked concerned. Kaoru sighed, nodding slowly, "Yeah, I’m fine" Yoshida-san threw a sympathetic look, "Go and rest, we’ll talk to Yoshiki" he winked and Kaoru got it all. So he smiled and walked out the room.

"Die!"

Kaoru looked shock, seeing Die sitting on the chair, near the office’s door. The red head looked up with lazy look on his face. He nodded and stared at the floor again, "I wanted to talk to you" Kaoru didn’t hear anything. His heart was pounding aloud, wondering if Die, by any chance, overheard the conversation!

Yuzuna…

"Eh…Die?" he wanted to ask, but as Die looked up, innocently, with a really blank expression on his face, Kaoru decided not to ask. Maybe Die didn’t hear what they were talking about. He sighed and nodded back, "What do you want to talk about?" but then he remembered Toshiya, running away just like that.

"I don’t know things don’t go well between you and Toshiya…"

Kaoru froze, that name again.

Usually it would be Die sitting with an upset expression on his face while Kaoru walked towards him, holding two paper cups of coffee. But this time was different! Kaoru felt funny, seeing Die offering him the paper cup, "Nah, your coffee!" the older one smiled and took it.

"I didn’t know…I knew nothing about Toshiya!" Die shook his head, began talking. Kaoru laughed shortly, "I didn’t know either, until he decided to tell me, which was last week" the pink head frowned. Die took a sip of the coffee, at the same time, his eyes looked up to Kaoru.

"I heard what Toshiya said…in the corridor just now"

Kaoru made no reply, merely stared at the cup. Die touched his arm, "Kaoru, I’m sorry" the guitarist joined his eyebrows, "Why are you sorry about it? I can’t even see which part of it you’re involved in!" the red head bit his lip, looking away.

"I thought it only happened in –my- relationship" Die replied softly, "I didn’t know this…this problem between me and Shinya actually affects other people too!" he looked at Kaoru with sad eyes, ‘I’m sorry…if I knew, if I wasn’t this blind…" he shook his head, Kaoru patted his shoulder, "No, Die! Nothing to do with you!"

"If I didn’t drag you into this…if I didn’t ask you to do things…" Die sadly looked away. Kaoru narrowed his eyes, Die didn’t know about Shinya did he? The pink head thought for a while, before making up his mind.

"Die! There’s something I have to tell you" the pink head put the cup on the floor. Die did the same, and looked at him suspiciously, "About Shinya?" Kaoru nodded. "Is it the ‘secret’ the doctor was talking about?" Kaoru nodded again. The guitarist smiled, "Tell me then…I’m not sure if I really want to know about it…anymore"

So Kaoru told him, how Shinya felt about Die, how Shinya didn’t want anyone to see him…why did Shinya’s parents asked the doc not to tell Die anything, how he and Yoshiki found out about the drummer’s real condition, and when Yoshiki met Shinya, the younger one didn’t say anything…

To Kaoru’s surprise…Die didn’t seem interested. He didn’t even seem surprise or anything. Just a bit of disappointment in his eyes, and a great amount of pain. The red head smiled.

"What else do you know? What else does Yoshiki know? What did the doctor say?"

Kaoru brushed his hair, "Well, Yoshiki told me about Shinya, and …maybe, he doesn’t want to be in the band anymore" Kaoru waited for a reaction, but there was none. He began to feel really-really- scared. The person sitting in front of him, wasn’t Die! Die would care for Shinya…but …this time…

"I’m not surprise if he wants to go back to Osaka…" Die suddenly mumbled. Kaoru sighed, "Die, if that really happens, what will you do?" the pink head studied his friend’s face, trying to figure out what’s in the younger one’s mind. Kaoru touched Die’s arm, "What will you do?"

Kaoru waited and waited, for so long…Die looked very thoughtful, and finally he replied.

"I don’t care anymore…"

Kaoru’s eyebrows shot up in shock.

"I don’t think…I want to hear anything about it…anymore! I don’t even think I want to hear such name like Shinya, for the rest of my life!" Die hissed. Kaoru watched the hardened expression feeling his words lost.

"I feel stupid! Call me selfish, whatever you want!" Die’s voice turned cold, "I waited, waited, and waited! I was so worried, so upset, and that’s what I got?! Kicked out form his room? He didn’t want me to see him, to touch him…you can hate me, you can detest me for being so mean, not understanding the condition he’s in…"

Kaoru shut his eyes and massaged his temple, "Die…I don’t-"

"This is driving me crazy! Isn’t this driving you crazy too?!" Die hissed louder, his arm held Kaoru’s tightly. The pink head blinked, surprised, shock…

"I’m sorry things aren’t good between you and Toshiya…if I could I would talk to him. But I can’t! Die spoke clearly this time, looking into Kaoru’s eyes. The older one pursed his lips tight. "I hope you don’t end up like me…I hope Toshiya doesn’t end up hating you, or not wanting to see you again…and I wish things are better in –your- relationship!"

Die got up, forgetting the cup of coffee in front of him. His right foot moved it aside and the black coffee spilled onto the white floor.

"See you…"

Kaoru couldn’t bear to watch the red head’s back, walking away JUST LIKE THAT. Away from the one he had always loved!!!
