Chapter 5 ~The Sins of my Soul~
***
[With the quickness of his vampire speed.....Kaoru flung himself forward in the direction of Shinya's room. Upon reaching it he realized it was than too late. His Shinya was gone. There was nothing left but an empty and silent room - a room filled with nothing more but the lingering scent of his beloved that was once there.
Kaoru collapsed to the floor as the other 'family' members gathered behind the huddled form. Their own blood tears coming forth over the unexpected situation. Kyo stood with burning fury in his eyes as his own blood tears stained his white cheeks and he too fell to the floor.
Kaoru lifted himself up and with gut wrenching emotion - his cries traveled through out the entire estate of Deity Manor like a ghostly wail. "SHINYYAAAA!!!!"
One figure stood calmly and collectively to the side as he stared on at Kaoru. The other 'family' members oblivious to the hint of a smile that appeared on his ever so delicate lips. The figure watched on as the others gathered Kaoru into their arms and each one giving their solemn vow to save their precious Shinya.
Klaha stood quietly as a satisfying look of a -well thought out plan- was complete and he gave a wicked smile as he watched his violet haired fledgling hopelessly drop to the floor once more and Kaoru's body shook with heartbreaking sobs.]

With their vampire quickness,
Mana and Közi's travels only took them a matter of minutes as they
reached their destination to an old abandoned castle nestled on the
outskirts of Louisiana.
With it's foundations made of centuries old stones and wrought iron -
it sat vacant and bleak amongst the dead and withered old trees with
it's branches dried and twisted in grotesque forms like skeleton bones
that were broken and fused back to give it's odd and strangely
deformed shape.
The large wrought iron fence with it's once immaculate finish was now nothing more than a bunch of twisted and aged old metal. Upon reaching it, Mana reached out with careful fingers and gave a slight push and the large wrought iron door slowly made it's way back with a high pitched squeal bringing a slight chill to both Mana and Közi's flesh as the resonant sound sung out into the blackness of the night.
As the two vampires made their way toward the large entrance doors - they took notice of an old run down graveyard that sat to the west of the castle. Dirt and debris and old broken headstones were it's fate from centuries of neglect and it's unknown occupants long forgotten.
Reaching the main entrance - the massive wooden doors creaked open on it's own accord as if embracing and welcoming it's invited guests. Mana and Közi entered without hesitation and proceeded to make their way to the deeper depths of the castles interior.

Back at Deity Manor, the 'family' members worked diligently together to bring some sort of resolve to their impending situation. Kaoru was distraught and heartbroken but still ever so determined to get his beloved Shinya back.
Thinking of how such a thing could happen without him knowing - the sudden realization hit him that he was unable to detect the presence of the household servants. Kaoru used the Mind Gift to scan the premises of the Manor but they were no where to be found. Finding this to be unusual, Kaoru looked up and focused his gaze across the room and as his eyes made contact with that of his Sire's - Kaoru felt a sudden surge of heartache grip his chest once again.
Klaha stood silently as his dark blue eyes stared on at his fledgling with great concentration. No emotion - not even a look of concern or worry ever crossed his beautifully set features. His eyes like the deepest of ocean blue radiated nothing more but an unfeeling coldness that brought shivering chills to travel up and down Kaoru's spine.
Kaoru shook his head with disbelivement as he continued to stare in the direction of his Sire. A jumble of misguided thoughts and gut wrenching instincts took a sudden rush through Kaoru's mind and body far quicker than he had time to react. His dark bronze colored eyes grew wide with a mixture of horror and shock as his breath came forth in a jagged state and a single drop of a crimson tear made it's way into the corner of Kaoru's eye and slowly slid down his cheek.
No! It can't be.....it can't be....IT CAN'T BE!
A mental thought soon traveled over to Kaoru's mind - ambiguously floating into his subconscious like a shadowy mist - a whispering of speech that was cold, dark, and without any fear.
::Ahhh....but it -can- be cheri. Is it so hard for you to believe that I can cause such -pain- for you? You were so -simple- to fool!::
Kaoru clenched his eyes shut as he flinched from the cold and unfeeling words that played out in his mind. It felt as though a rough steal blade had been wrenched inside his heart with great force and it's precision sharpened edge - gutting and twisting with clever ease. A somber emptiness soon began to form - so black and hallow that it seemed to grasp his insides fiercely and threaten to slowly eat away his immortal soul.
This would be the ultimate betrayal. A relationship that was filled with nothing more than deception. Was it all just a sham? A trickery of false emotions? How could this be possible Kaoru thought. Was their blood union based on nothing but lies and deceit and he was nothing more but a pawn for being used and mislead by this devious blood drinker that he so dearly loved?
They were of the same breed - night creatures who relished on the taste of human blood and lived in the world of the undead.
For centuries, Klaha had been his teacher, his Master, his mate, and his lover. They were two souls that were bound by eternal life and living in a world of darkness.
But now, it meant nothing. Everything that their relationship was based on was meaningless and Kaoru let out a choked sob as he brought his head up - focusing his vision once more on the man that he loved and trusted with his immortal life - but that was now gone. The man that stood before him now was nothing more but a cold and empty shell - nothing left to show of what he once was. An internal beauty that was forever lost and a love that was once shared - was never really true.
"W-whyyyy?!" Kaoru cried out.
The other 'family' members became startled and distracted by Kaoru's wavering cry and they looked up to see the Master of Deity Manor hunched over his desk with features twisted in grief.
Kyo blinked with eyes filled with confusion but than suddenly grew wide with concern and fear as he saw a crimson tear fall and soon followed by more.
"Shit....Kaoru! What's wrong?!" the blond vampire asked with heavy concern as he rushed over to Kaoru's side, followed by the others.
Taking notice of Kaoru's gaze, the 'family' members slowly adverted their eyes across the room where they saw their Lord standing with self assuring ease. Klaha gave a smile as he inched his way a little closer to the Deity family clan - his steps cold and calculating.
"Why, you ask?" he let out a snicker. "Because it was meant to be dear Kaoru. How naive you are....did you think that my love for you was so true?" Klaha laughed. "It was nothing more than a charade and so easily done I might add." Klaha smirked. "And now - here you are - broken with such heartache and grief. The blood tears that you shed now does nothing more for you than show your weakness! You're pathetic!"
Kaoru winced from Klaha's words. He wiped away his blood tears and brought his vision back up with confusion. "What about Yoshiki?"
"Aahhh yes....dear sweet Yoshiki - your brother." Klaha smiled. "He was a bit of a problem in the beginning but he soon grew easy to handle." Klaha said.
Toshiya did all he could to hold back his own tears as he looked up at his Sire in shock. "No....oh god, no!" Toshiya cried out as he covered his face to hide his tears. Yu~ki embraced the blue haired vampire as he stared up with his own expression of disbelief and shock. "Sire? Please say that it isn't so?" Yu~ki pleaded in a painful voice as he looked into his Sire's eyes with hopes of seeing some assuring answer that this was just nothing more than a cruel joke.
"I'm sorry my fledglings - but this is far from being just a cruel joke." Klaha said with a coldness to his tone.
"YOU! It was you all this time? How could you do this to us you BASTARD!" Kyo spat out with fierce anger. "How could you do this to Kaoru?!?!!" With fangs barred, Kyo clenched his fists with heated anger while his eyes burned with fury. Ancient or not, Kyo was more than ready to attack with all his strength. He knew he had no chance of winning but he was sure hell-bent and ready to give that back stabbing blood sucker one hell of a fucking beating!
Die's eyes grew wide as he lunged himself towards his fledgling. "NO KYO!" the red headed vampire shouted as he fought to keep his fledgling from attacking. "You have no chance of winning this and I'll be DAMNED before I will allow any harm come to you!"
"Hahaha....excellent choice Die." Klaha said with a mock tone. "The endless possibilities of how I could have ended that retched devils existence would have been extraordinary if you hadn't detained him."
Die shot a fierce glare towards Klaha. "YOU....you do nothing more than bring SHAME to our kind!" the red haired vampire spat out with anger. "You deserve to rot in the PITS OF HELL FOR YOUR BETRAYAL!"
"Such harsh words coming from one such as yourself Die." Klaha sneered. "Tell me Kaoru...?" Klaha focused his vision back on his fledgling. "...Are you still so intent on saving that lovely boy? Do you honestly think you have the power to -win- this battle?" Klaha paused and looked on at Kaoru with a sneer, "Are you so willing to risk it -all- to fight me?"
With his lips drawn into a thin line and eyes narrowed - Kaoru quickly stood up to his Sire's challenge with a searing gaze. "I will fight YOU and YOSHIKI into damnation if I have to!" Kaoru shouted as he stood in a rigid stance. "I LOVED you......I TRUSTED you.....and you did nothing more but USE ME! How could you do this to me?! To US!!!" Kaoru moved himself away from his desk and cautiously walked toward the immortal being that he once loved. With eyes staring intently into that of a cold ocean blue - Kaoru clenched his fists tight, his fingernails digging deeply into his palms causing crimson droplets to trickle down the pale flesh and onto the floor. Kaoru narrowed his eyes, his gaze burning into that of the other with such hatred and with a venomous tone, he spewed out, "I HATE YOU!!!"
Klaha stood calmly and without reservation as he looked on at the violet haired vampire. His features emotionless and cold but all the while his insides wrenched with such agonizing pain as those last words were said...'I HATE YOU'.
***
The castle's interior was filled with ancient subterranean corridors. Secret stairwell passage ways abounded the many rooms - connecting both the first and second floors and beyond. With it's narrow stone steps leading down to unknown destinations of the castle's heart - it presented a dark, shadowy, and erie coldness that would bring shivering chills to the human flesh.
Over a hundred rooms existed within these castle walls, some of which were ineptly titled: The Nursery, The Invalid Room, The Chapel, The Medical Room, and The Council Room - to name a few. Deep below the castle's ground was a massive room known as The Laboratory by which for centuries held many dark and unknown secrets. Many believed that this room was used for torture and experiments among other unforsakable acts that were put upon many unsuspected victims.
Upon reaching the dark and cold chamber, Mana made his way across the room and lit the few sconces that hung from the stone walls. The fiery light brought images of various lab tables and gurneys to display their erie metallic coldness as they sat in various places throughout the room. Over on the eastern wall hung an array of surgical implements by which some were incomprehensible of what it's intended purpose was for.
"Fuck. This place gives me the creeps." Közi muttered as he eyed the scattered implements on the wall.
Mana just smirked at Közi's unease as he slowly made his way to the northern section of the room. Mana reached up and with a slight twist of the stone gargoyle statue, a small section of wall slowly slid open. "This way." Mana said as he motioned for Közi to follow. The slender vampire gave a sigh as he looked down at the fragile young man that was cradled in his arms. "This plan had better work." was all that Közi murmured before he made his way through the opening and descended down the dark stairwell.
***
With their keen vampire vision, the two vampires quickly inched their way down through the narrow corridor filled with twists and turns - stone steps eternally descending down to a black oblivion and not knowing what would be at the end was enough to give the two night creatures a fleeting moment of unease.
As they reached the deepest depths of the castle's underground, a series of fire torches flared up at will and lit up the room by which the two vampires stood frozen in place as their eyes scanned the premises with a mixture of shock and amazement.
A room that spanned out to the size of the whole castle with it's ground floor and walls made of nothing more but solid concrete stone met their vision. Dusty old cobwebs laced the walls and every nook and cranny imaginable and the lingering musty smell that reached their nostrils caused both vampires to pinch their nose in disgust.
To the far north of the room sat a great stone alter with intricate medieval carvings and strange ritual symbols - each design foreign and mysterious but yet they presented a strange sense of artistic beauty as they were displayed around the solid massive block.
More torches suddenly flared up which caused both Mana and Közi to jump.
"What the fuck is this place?" Közi asked as his eyes looked around the room with some disgust.
"Who knows." Mana shrugged before making his way towards the alter. Upon reaching it, Mana lightly brushed a slender, delicate finger across the symbols while his eyes studied the patterns in which they were displayed.
Közi stood silently while he held the fragile young man in his arms, his embrace becoming just a little tighter - the feeling rising up in his chest of wanting to protect the unconscious boy more so then he had previous was enough to make the tall vampire feel that perhaps this whole thing was a mistake.
"Mana?" Közi finally spoke, "What are you doing?" he asked as he took a few steps closer to his companion. "Maybe we should just forget this whole thing you know. I mean, this place is too fucking weird. What do you say we just go, huh?" the vampire requested in a pleaful voice with hopes that his mate would agree.
It was obvious that the room was giving Közi the creeps. Everything about it was just too weird for the tall vampire's taste and even though Közi would never admit it - the whole idea of this so called 'plan' was starting to scare the hell out of him and he wanted to get out now.
"Maaa~naaa?" Közi begged again for his companion's attention.
"QUIET!" Mana spat out as his eyes moved rapidly over the alter. "You are such a child sometimes Közi, I swear. Nothing is going to happen okay." the beautiful vampire said as he went back to studying the symbols.
Shit.
Why the hell did we ever have to agree to this. Why did Klaha have to pick THIS place for his plans to take place?
And Mana....telling me to keep quiet. Yeah...well...let's see how quiet you want me to be next time we're in bed you blood-sucking bitch!
And I'm NOT a child!
"KÖZI!!!"
"Huh? W-what is it?" Közi jumped as he was startled away from his thoughts.
"Do you know what THIS is?!??!" Mana's voice rang out with a tinge of excitement, "This is a sacrificial alter! This whole room was used for The Sabbat!!!"
Közi blinked with confusion. "What are you talking about? What's a Sabbat?"
Mana tilted his head and rolled his eyes, "You dimwit! Don't you know anything! The Sabbat goes back to Medieval times. It's was a Sect made up of a monstrous and violent vampire cult who clung to no trappings of human philosophy or morality. The members, or this cult at that time, for centuries had actively seeked out to overthrow the Traditions of our kind and to cause destruction and the subjugation of humankind. They viewed us as pawns of the Ancients and opposed us politically and physically."
Mana paused before breathing out a sigh, "You know, I used to think this was all lurid tales told by the elders to keep troublesome fledglings in line....but this certainly proves otherwise."
Mana turned to look at the alter once again, "That alter was used for sacrificial purposes which allowed for them to posses the living soul of their victims and the powers that they would gain by that sacrifice would be powerful."
"So then, why would Klaha tell
us to come here?" Közi asked with curiosity but then his brown eyes
went wide when a sudden thought flashed through his mind. "Um...y-you
don't think that...
that maybe Yoshiki is...is, you know....?"
"I don't know Közi, but this whole thing is starting to scare the shit out of me and you know that doesn't happen too often."
"So...what do we do Mana?"
Mana gave a long pause before answering.
"We wait....," Mana finally said as his blue eyes focused intently on his nocturnal companion and then adverted over to the unconscious Shinya that was embraced ever so tightly in the vampire's arms, "......for Klaha."
Aw fuck! I knew you would say that.
Közi let out a loud groan to express is discomfort and displeasure of Mana's choice to wait for their Master's arrival.......and especially in this godforsaken place.
Mana just raised a finely arched brow as he looked on at his companion. He didn't like the situation any more then Közi but what choice did they have. They had to wait. Klaha had given them strict orders to follow and he wasn't about to go against their Master.
"Don't worry Közi." Mana said has he walked over to his companion. The beautiful vampire reached out and touched the other's hand in a gesture that was tender and loving. "Klaha knows what he's doing and everything will be alright."
Közi stared down into Mana's blue eyes with some doubt. "Are you sure?"
"Of course I am!" Mana said with confidence, not wanting to put the other vampire in a worse state of unease than he already was in. With Mana's assuring and confidant answer, Közi felt some sense of relief, but little did Közi know that Mana was having some ill feelings about the situation. Mana couldn't shake the sense that something just wasn't quite right and that something terrible was going to happen.
***
Back at Deity Manor, Klaha pushed aside his emotional pain and continued on with the purpose at hand. As much as it had hurt, he had to try and convince Kaoru from continuing on with his insane rescue plan. It was an obvious no-win situation as far as Klaha was concerned and he knew that his violet haired fledgling and the 'family' members would have no chance of coming out of this battle as the victor. Besides, it was his battle and his alone.
Showing the act of betrayal among his own kind, not to mention denouncing his own fledglings - the action itself was certainly one that was unspeakable and most certainly frowned upon among the vampire clans but yet, Klaha did it with out right selflessness. As much as he knew that it would hurt Kaoru and the others and destroy his status of High Lord and Ancient of the vampire Sect, he had no choice.
He was also aware of the fact that by his actions, he would be breaking one of the most followed Traditions or Vampire Codes, that were set forth thousands upon thousands of years ago by the progenitor Vampire, hide.
Klaha also knew that it would make him an outcast and most certainly bring about his own demise if he should ever be caught.
But all of that didn't matter.
If it deterred the 'family' from pursuing on, then so be it. He would give up everything to assure the safety and ongoing existence of the Deity clan.
***
"Give up Kaoru. You can't win. Consider your losses and just continue on with your so called existence. The young one is lost to you....and as for us....," Klaha gave a weak smile, "....it was never meant to be." Klaha turned and with his head bowed down, he softly whispered, "If you or the 'family' should ignore my warning....then I shall have no choice.... but to destroy all of you."
And with this, Klaha swept his arms upwards and in a misty cloud of vapor, Klaha transformed himself in the form of a wolf. The transformed beast quickly turned and hunched downed on it's haunches, it's silver fur coat bristled with agitation. A deep low growl came forth and the wolf barred it's fangs, readying itself for an onslaught attack if provoked in any way. With it's silver colored eyes, the wolf steadied it's gaze on Kaoru before it jolted from it's position and ran across the room with such speed and smashed through the window glass, causing the shattered and jagged edges to fly in every direction. Kaoru quickly ran over to the broken window and stared out into the cold blackness of the night, catching a fleeting glimpse of the transformed beast before it disappeared beyond the trees and into the night fog.
The other members stood idly by with a sense of shock and disbelivement at what just occurred. They had never seen nor heard of vampires having the ability to transform themselves into other living creatures. But then again, Klaha was no ordinary vampire. Being that of a High Lord and Ancient, anything was possible they supposed.
"Holymotherfuckingshitman.....," Kyo blurted out, "....what the fuck else can that guy do huh?!"
"What are we going to do Kaoru?" Die asked.
No answer came as the Master of Deity Manor stood solemnly as his eyes continued to stare out into the night.
"I know what I'M gonna do!" Kyo shouted out with anger as he thrusted his fist into the air, "I'm gonna FIND that flea-bitten wolf, drain it of all it's FUCKING blood, spike it a few times with a DAMNED stake for good measure and then maybe....just maybe...if I feel some sympathy for the poor BASTARD, I'll RIP it's flesh to the bone and use that retchid fur as a FUCKING BATH MAT that SON'UVABITCH!!!"
Toshiya's own eyes went wide upon hearing the descriptive details of Kyo's demise of the so called wolf and he leaned over just a little to whisper in his mate's ear, "Yu~ki? Remind me never to piss Kyo off okay?" Yu~ki couldn't help but chuckle as he reached over and grasped his beautiful companion's waist and pulled him in closer.
"So...what're we waiting for? Let's go kick some VAMPIRE ASS!" Kyo shouted out.
"No. We do nothing." Kaoru's voice traveled calmly from across the room.
"Whaaaa.....?" Kyo blinked with shock. "Don't tell me you're giving up Kaoru?!"
The violet haired vampire turned and with a pain to his voice, he continued, "Klaha is right. What chance do we have against him and Yoshiki. With their powers combined, it will be nothing but a failure and for what.....the end of your existence? I can't do that." he shook his head in despair. "I can't do that!" and with this, Kaoru quickly exited the study and with a heavy stride, he made his way to his private bed chamber, leaving the others behind in shock for they never thought that Kaoru would just walk away as a defeated man without a fight.
***
Reaching it's destination, the wolf came to a stop at the castle's grounds. In a mist of vapor, the wolf form changed and Klaha stood with his blue eyes fixed onto the cloud covered sky.
"I'm waiting for you Yoshiki. Brace yourself for a world of destruction for your end will be my salvation." Klaha whispered before making his way to the entrance. The doors opened and he entered and all was silent with the exception of the creaking noise of the doors as they slowly came to a close.
***
Kaoru entered his sleeping quarters with a sick feeling. His world had fallen apart and the loss of his beloved Shinya was enough to bring his entire being to a halt. And the final blow of the betrayal from his Lord and Master only brought on the strong urge of wanting to end it all. He had nothing left. What was there for him to continue on with his existence? He lost everything. His beloved Shinya, his Sire, his dignity, his heart, and immortal soul. There was nothing left inside of him but a cold and empty void. And now in the eyes of his 'family'....he saw himself as a shameless coward.
Kaoru took slow lifeless steps
towards his bed. As he reached it, he noticed lying atop the black and
silver satin bed comforter a rolled up piece of writing paper that was
neatly bound with a red satin ribbon. Next to it was a single long
stem red rose - it's petals radiating all of it's astounding beauty,
but as Kaoru stared on at the delecate flower - he felt nothing but a
longing
heartache.
Klaha would always say that a rose was made of aesthetic beauty and with graceful elegance - and for someone to recieve such a beautiful gift meant that the giver was giving a token of his most cherished love for the other - and for centuries, Kaoru would find just that. On the eve of every night, from the moment of their first meeting, Kaoru would always find a single red rose nestled delicately atop his bedding - a token of a cherished love - always given by his Sire.
Unable to hold back his grief, Kaoru collapsed atop his bed as his blood tears streaked down his pale cheeks and onto the satin material of the bedding. The pain was so overpowering that Kaoru felt the strong urge to just take the delicate flower and crush it for the worthless intentions it stood for. But as much as he wanted to, he couldn't help but reach over with shaky hands and as he picked it up with deft fingers, he suddenly clutched it close to his chest as his sobs came forth non stop.
After what seemed like endless hours, Kaoru slowly reached out for the rolled up writing paper. He began to untie the red satin ribbon slowly and as the ribbon fell lifeless to the bedding, Kaoru began to unroll it. Wiping away his tears from his cheeks, he began to read.....
My beloved Kaoru,
Forgive me Cheri. It -pains- me to great ends to have done this to you but believe me when I say that there was no other choice. Yoshiki is far more powerful than I have led you to believe and I WILL NOT allow for you or the 'family' to risk your immortal existence! This battle is between myself and Yoshiki and I must correct the ways of my sins and DESTROY the demon that I am partially responsible for creating - even if it means the end of my own immortal life. I regret to say that I had to use the young one as part of my plan but trust me when I also say that I will do everything within my power to assure the safety of your beloved Shinya and have him returned to your side. I strongly recommend that you and the 'family' do not pursue with your set forth plans for you will NOT succeed and I cannot guarantee your safety. Please do not forsake our love and memories for they were always true. I've loved you from the moment our eyes met on that one Autumn eve so long ago and I love you even now. Take care of my beloved Yu~ki and Toshiya for they are still young fledglings and will need your guidance and teachings. I love you Kaoru - always and forever.
~Lord Masaki
Klaha
Kaoru sank back on the bed as his eyes blinked with confusion and a series of uncertain emotions began to surface. A mixture of joy and relief came to him that everything that his Sire had done was nothing more but a well crafted out plan, and very well done he might add. How brilliant.
But that fleeting moment of happiness soon faded as another emotion began to set in. Kaoru stared at the letter once again and then dropped it to the bed as his hands came up to cover his face and then swept up through his violet hair. He then reached down and crumbled the letter in his fist with a fit of anger.
Damn you Klaha! Why....WHY didn't you -tell- me?! Did you -think- so less of our bond that you couldn't trust me?! How could you do this? Why?!?!!
Kaoru slammed his fists on the bed in frustration.
You hurt me so much you bastard! Oh god how it fucking hurt!
Kaoru's eyes stared up at the ceiling and as the anger began to fade, another emotion began to sink in. The sudden sensation of remorse gripped him like a vise.
Oh Klaha....oh god, I'm so sorry. How I must have hurt you when I said that I hated you. As much as I tried....deep in my heart....I still loved you but it had hurt so much and I didn't know what to do or say. I don't want those final words to be the last that you hear...., not if I can help it.
Feeling a new resound of determination, Kaoru picked himself up into a sitting position and as he was about to stand, he caught a glimpse from the corner of his eye....the rose, with it's one time brilliant and elegant detail - it was now nothing more but a pile of crushed and bruised petals that had seperated from it's core, and the beauty and life that once shined was now that of one that was slowly whithering away. Kaoru scooped up the damaged petals and cupped them in his palm and as his index finger gently rubbed over the still softness of each petal, he brought them up to his lips and whispered, "I love you." before pressing a gentle kiss to them and then laying them down atop his pillow.
Kaoru jumped from his bed and quickly ran down the stairs to the main floor and flew into the study causing the huge oak doors to slam back hard against the wall. The other members of the family became startled as they looked on at their Master.
"GET YOURSELVES READY....WE HAVE A BATTLE TO WIN!" Kaoru yelled out.
"Fuck yeah!!!" Kyo cheered out.
"Kaoru? W-what about Klaha? What are we going to do about him? And Shinya?" Toshiya's voice cracked as he asked tearfully.
"Don't worry dear, sweet Toshiya.....Klaha is on -our- side. Trust me. And Shinya will be fine as long as he's with him."
"Really?" Toshiya's eyes blinked with happiness. "Oh god, really! Did you hear that Yu~ki? Klaha is on our side!" Toshiya clutched onto Yu~ki's arm with excitement. "What are we waiting for....let's go get them and bring them home!"
"Wait....wait....WAIT!" Kyo screamed out with some annoyance from the sudden turn of events. "Are you telling me Kaoru that Klaha did NOT betray us?!"
"I'm telling all of you.... that Klaha did not betray us. There's no time for me to explain but believe me when I say that we can trust Klaha."
"Okay, you got it. We believe you Kaoru....," Kyo slowly walked over to Kaoru and jabbed a finger in his chest, "....but you damn well better tell us the story when this is all finished! Deal?"
Kaoru smiled as he looked down at the blond vampire. "Deal."
"Okay....so how the hell do we know where they are?!" Die asked
"I know where to go but that means that I would have to transform myself to pick up the scent."
"Transform? What the fuck are you talking about Kaoru? We can just follow the path that Klaha took by using our sense of smell right? We're vampires for god sake, or have you forgotten." Kyo rolled his eyes.
"Kyo....don't you understand, when Klaha fled, he was in wolf form so the only scent that he left behind is that of which he left here as. So the only way to track down as to which direction he went, I have to use my 'Shape of the Beast' ability and transform myself in order to follow the scent."
"Aw geez, not you too?" Kyo smacked his forehead, "Listen. I don't want anymore fucking surprises okay. All this hocus pocus crap is driving me nuts!"
"Sorry Kyo." Kaoru said with smirk, "But what you will see of my powers is only the beginning."
Kyo winced. "I did so NOT need to hear that." Kyo blew out a heavy breath. "Okay okay....so change already....geez, what're you gonna be? It better be something cool man."
Kaoru just gave a light laughter in return.
Turning toward the others, he said, "Okay, all of you will have to quickly keep in pace with me."
Everyone nodded as they watched Kaoru motion with his hands and a misty vapor filled the room. As it dissipated, the form of a sleek black panther stood amidst the lingering mist. It's gold colored eyes burning it's gaze on the family members as they stood in awe.
"Now THAT is a cool
transformation!" Kyo finally said as he gave a thumbs up sign in the
direction of where the panther stood. The feline creature licked it's
muzzle as if in appreciation for Kyo's approval and then the large
slender cat turned and bolted through the broken window with the
others following close behind.
