~Seed of Love~

Prologue

The apartment was totally dark when Kaoru closed the door. But before he could even on the light, he found himself pinned to the wall.

" Huh? Who??" he blinked, a drop of panic evident in his voice.

The guitarist only heard laboured breathing and the body plastering him to the wall was tall and slim. Then smooth lips claimed his and he knew exactly who the person was.

" Toshiya!" he exclaimed breathlessly after the kiss.

" Kaoru…" His voice was husky.

" What is it??"

" I…Kaoru…" He began unbuttoning his shirt. " Please…"

" Hm?" Kaoru was rather disorientated. " Is something wrong?" He was perplexed by Toshiya’s weird behaviour.

" I…I’m horny," Toshiya said, blushing. "Can we…please?"

" Now? It’s only 8!"

" Yes, now!"

He immediately sank to his knees before the toilet bowl and began retching. The contents of his rebellious stomach threatened to be puked out but only threatened. Toshiya had one hand at the side of the ceramic toilet bowl and another on his chest. He felt awful.

The light from the bathroom woke Kaoru up. Squinting, he reached for his glasses beside him and padded to the light source.

" Hm, Toshiya? Are you sick?" he asked, worried.

Toshiya felt nauseous as he tried to stand up and he had to hold on to the sink. " I…feel sick!" he said.

" Is it a fever?" The older man pressed the back of his hand against his forehead. "No, maybe it’s food poisoning…"

" I’ll send you to the clinic afterwards okay?" Kaoru held the bassist, supporting him as he brought him back to the room. "Rest first.," he instructed as he lay the younger man on the bed, kissing his forehead before settling under the blanket.

The doctor in white robes and a stethoscope hanging around her neck looked up from the report. "Um, Toshiya-san, there seems to be nothing wrong with you…"

" But I feel nauseous and always feel like throwing up. Are you sure I’m okay?" Toshiya asked.

" Yes, yes, maybe it’s an early sign of a flu or something…I’ll give you some vitamins just to keep it away," the doctor smiled.

" If you’re sure…"

" Come back if it still persists." Then she began to laugh softly.

" What???"

" Nausea and throwing up? Sounds like you’re pregnant, Toshiya-san!" she grinned.

" Yeah, right! Very funny!" Toshiya responded.

Thinking that everything was fine, the bassist left the clinic and went to join his lover at practice.

The guitar sound echoed for a while before abruptly ending when Die pulled out the amplifier cord.

" Hey, guys! It’s still early…wanna have dinner together? Then maybe go for a drink or two?" the red-haired guitarist suggested.

" Are you paying?" Kaoru asked.

" You give me the money, I’ll pay ne," Die grinned.

" Where for dinner?" Shinya stuffed his drumsticks into the black bag.

Kyo suddenly appeared, yawning and stretching. He plopped down next to Toshiya on the couch. "Hey, why the glum face?"

" Kyo, don’t disturb him; he’s not feeling well," Kaoru answered for the young man.

" Aw, poor thing," Kyo said in a mild teasing manner.

But Toshiya got annoyed. "Just leave me alone," he said irritated.

" You wanna go home?" Kaoru went over to the bassist, asking him gently.

He shook his head.

" You sure?"

" Yeah, the doctor said I’m okay…" he insisted.

" Well…we’ll just go for dinner then we’ll go home, okay?"

It was mid-autumn. The wind was chilly and the grey pavement they walked on seemed to make the night colder.

" Wah, that sukiyaki was delicious!" Kyo exclaimed, his cheeks pink from cold. The glasses he wore slid down a centimetre on his nose.

" It’d better be," Kaoru said. But his mind was far away from food or money as he threw a glance to his side. A worried expression surfaced when he took in the gloomy face of Toshiya. The man was exceptionally quiet tonight. Usually, he was talkative and easily excitable.

" Toshiya?" The guitarist reached for his hand, warming it as his fingers laced with the bassist’s.

" I’m okay…don’t worry," Toshiya smiled, resting his head on Kaoru’s shoulder as they walked along the pavement. Die, Kyo and Shinya were heading for a bar.

" Have fun. See you guys tomorrow!" Kaoru waved goodbye to their friends.

" Bye!"

So the two lovers started walking towards their car.

" Hn…" Toshiya’s head grew heavy and his vision was blurry. Subconsciously, he clutched at Kaoru’s sleeves.

Kaoru felt Toshiya leaning heavily against him. Then suddenly, Toshiya just fell forward to the ground.

" Toshiya!!!"
