From One Couple To The Other

Part 3
Die was alone, Toshiya had left half an hour ago and what he
asked was still bothering the guitarist. Go out with him? But he only
liked him as a friend and Toshi knew that. What was that question
for? He hadn't changed his mind had he? That was out of the
question,
Toshiya loved Kaoru too much. There was something else, something Die
hadn't caught yet.
The guitarist sat down on his couch lighting up a cigarette, he
didn't like feeling stupid. What did his friend want, not get
Kaoru
jealous did he? My god, he didn't want the leader to be on his
case,
they were buddies! And he said yes, he couldn't believe he did.
Hell,
something was going to go over the limits if he didn't manipulate
the
situation carefully. Manipulate…that was the word, Toshiya wanted
to
use him for his own good! There was a turmoil in Die's head, a
little
more and he was going to scream his head out. But…what about
Kaoru?
He was going to be heartbroken...and Shinya…
He almost chewed on his cigarette, Shinya…why did he think of
Shinya now? He was a totally different matter, Toshiya was the
problem. Toshiya, the beautiful bassist, wasn't thinking straight
and
all could the red head think of…was the little drummer. Maybe he
should call Kyo, he was the only one who wasn't involved in the
situation.
Kyo never got involved in anything, but he never cared if Die asked
for some help. Kyo did his best for the guitarist, Die liked that a
lot.
But…what if Kyo only laughed at him? Die chuckled, Kyo laugh?
What a
good one. He picked up the phone and dialled slowly. "Hey Kyo?
It's
me, how about a drink?"
Die smiled.
Half an hour later, Die and Kyo were in a cheap bar drinking beer.
Since the bar wasn't very popular, it was almost empty. It was
good,
very good…no crazy fans or anything, complete calm.
Putting his glass down, Kyo turned to face Die and he yawned.
"What
is it this time? Is it Shinya again?" Kyo looked bored, Die
always
called to talk about his little problems. It didn't really bother
him, but sometimes there were some things he didn't want to hear.
Like how Shinya was this or that, or how Shinya looked sweet and
played well. He knew how the drummer was, he saw him every time Die
did. But his friend was loosing his head over him, he couldn't do
a
thing, just listen and suffer in silence. The silence he always used
when Die talked to him.
Kyo sighed, he was different wasn't he? But it didn't matter,
Die
wanted to talk, so let him. The small man looked away for a second
and turned slightly his head to fully face his friend smiling faintly.
"It's Toshiya…" That little sentence woke up the little
singer.
Toshiya? There's something new…and interesting! Die never
talked
about Toshiya. Well maybe about the way he looked at Shinya when
Kaoru was mothering him, but that was something else! Something was
wrong with Toshiya! Kyo grinned, what was it? He wanted to
know! "What about Toshiya?"
The singer's tone seemed pushy, but it didn't really bother
the red
head, what was wrong was Toshiya at the moment. "He asked me to
go
out with him…"
Kyo almost fell down in chair. He did what? And the small man always
thought his friend bassist loved Kaoru, had he read wrong? Emptying
his glass, Kyo approached his face to Die. He was now an inch away
from Die's nose. "You don't like him?"
Die blinked. "What do you mean I don't like him? He's my
friend
nothing more!" Die asked another beer to the barman and opened
it,
not acting quite like himself. Making a loud noise when he slammed
the bottle on the bar, Die glared at Kyo. "He's my friend and
there's
no way I could even like him like I love Shin-chan!"
Kyo had a faint smile. "You're telling me… So what did
you answer
him." Die had already had drunk half of his bottle when Kyo
asked, he
swallowed hard and started to cough like crazy. Hitting his head hard
on the table, he looked shyly up to the singer. "I said yes."
He
banged his head harder again and started to giggle. "I SAID
YES!!!"
Kyo smirked, of course he did. Die was too nice to refuse such a
thing to a friend, especially to Toshiya.
Concealing his smile, Kyo looked down in his glass. That was
the only answer Die could have given, so it seemed normal to him. Not
really alarming in fact. "You know what Die, maybe you should ask
him
the reason for his demand…" Die looked up, of course…he
didn't do
that.
Banging his head harder and harder, Die was getting a strong headache
and tomorrow was probably going to be the same if he didn't stop
drinking. "You're right, I should ask. But…you know
Toshiya loves
Kaoru, why would he ask me of all people?!?"
Kyo just laughed, he didn't know.
*******************
"Ah! Why do I have to wake up so soon in the morning, WHY?"
Kaoru hadn't slept well last night and he was now really messed
up.
Something bad was going to happen, he could feel it in his bones. He
didn't want to go in the studio, he didn't want to see
Toshiya
either. He knew he wasn't fair with the bassist and didn't
want to be
glared at by the others. The usually happy Toshiya was very gloomy
these days and the leader knew it was his fault.
But there was something…something he couldn't really get
straight.
His beautiful friend was still smiling at him even if he was so
harsh. "He must be super human." Or maybe the beautiful man
really
liked him after all, that would be nice.
Kaoru smiled to himself, really nice. Just thinking Toshiya
could be his lover made his heart race. He sighed. He was now feeling
much better, thanks to Toshiya.
He entered the studio still smiling and put his guitar down to then
look at the others who were already there. His heart stopped, Toshiya
was in Die's arms. Die seemed uncomfortable, but Toshiya was very
happy about it.
Kaoru's smile fell. He wanted to die just there, just to make the
two
of them feel very bad about what they had just done. But they
wouldn't, the only person who knew Kaoru loved the bassist was
Shinya. Not the others…not the others, he trusted Shinya, he
really
did. The older man had only had the guts to tell his friend drummer,
not that he didn't want to tell the others and didn't trust
them, but…
That wasn't the point, the reason was that he didn't want
Toshiya to
feel betrayed if he ever found out everybody knew Kaoru loved him
except him, the one that should actually be the first told before
millions of others. But now it was all over…all of it had crushed
down in one tiny second.
The leader turned his head, he couldn't look. It made his
heart squeeze even harder when he did. He didn't want to see, see
what had crushed all his hopes with the beautiful bassist. Besides,
he didn't want his band mates to see him like this, they
didn't have
to know about that. They could get it wrong anyway.
Kaoru didn't know what held him together, he wanted to fall down
and
just stay there. He didn't care anymore.
Die saw Kaoru grow smaller and smaller by the minute. What
had they done? Well…it's not that Die wanted to hurt Kaoru,
it was
Toshiya's fault, all of it and the guitarist didn't know what
to do.
Well, maybe he had a little part in it, but it was the bassist's
idea, he had to ask him about it, or at most make him stop this
foolishness. Hurting the others wasn't going to solve anything.
Looking down to the bassist that was still hugging him while smiling
happily, Die chuckled silently, but the sadness was still in his
eyes. Closing them, he shook his head. Toshiya had to let go, the red
head didn't like it, he didn't like it at all.
The beautiful man got the message and did let go, but while doing so
a chill made him look behind the guitarist…Shinya.
The little drummer was glaring at them, he looked so mad. The bassist
felt he could explode any second now, taking a step forward, he bit
his lower lip.
But hey wait, that was the idea wasn't it. Make Shinya jealous so
that one of his friends was happy, compared to his miserable being.
The bassist's lips curved into a smile, telling to Shinya he had
won,
that he couldn't do a damn thing. Try to take him from me if you
got
the guts drummer! Try it…oh please do!
His thoughts were pleading and crying, he wanted everyone to be
happy, he had to do something. HE HAD TO!
Toshiya never saw Kaoru's crying eyes, he had hurt Kaoru too when
Shinya had to be the only one so he would take Die by force from him.
Kaoru was not suppose to be part of it, nobody was suppose to. Not
even Kyo…
Kyo was sitting on the couch and looking at his band mates.
This was an odd situation, Toshiya had done it. Being all over Die
like that, what a bad idea… Being all over Die… Kyo
didn't like those
words. He jumped on his seat when he saw Toshiya brush his fingers on
Die's cheek. The bastard…
Clutching his fists, Kyo almost stood up to go hit Toshiya on his
beautiful face. He was growing madder and madder by the minute. What
a bastard, what a bastard! He wanted to pin him to the wall and punch
him until he fainted. Die was not suppose to be his, he belonged to
Shinya and no one else. The drummer was the only one Kyo could give
him to. Only Shinya…only Shinya… Even if it hurt him every
time he
thought of it, it was better then think about Toshiya and Die being
together. It felt MUCH better. Kyo was used to Die talking about
Shinya, not Toshiya.
Die…how could you do that to Shinya, isn't he the one you
love? ISN'T HE??? Kyo wasn't thinking straight anymore. He
had to get
over it, but he was so mad at Toshiya he fumed inside.
Hitting his forehead with the palm of his hand, Kyo tried to come
back to reality. Closing his eyes hard he wanted to scream. He
couldn't help it, what was wrong with him?!
