What attracted me to Raphael at first?  Besides the name, it was their unique sound.  (Plus, they are so adorable)  Raphael had four members, Yukito, Kazuki, Hiro, and Yuki.  (Oi... all of these Yuki's... 2 in Raphael, 1 in Malice Mizer, 1 in Aucifer, and 1 in L'arc en Ciel.)  All of the members of this band will turn 20 this year and were pretty dang good to be so young, if you ask me.   Yukito was on bass, Kazuki was on guitar (love this guy best), Hiro was on drums, and Yuki was on vocals.  The founders of Raphael were Yukito and Kazuki.  Yukito is NOT married. (I am so sorry for the earlier post that said he was.  I should not believe everything I hear.)  Saddly, Kazuki the guitarist, lyrics and music writer, leader and co-founder of Raphael has passed away at the young age of 19.  He died of a tranquilizer overdose on October 31, 2000.  Most fans believe it was not suicide or that he was addicted to drugs, just that he was trying to relax and took to much.  I believe what the fans do because Kazuki was to good to kill himself.  He will be missed...

Since the death of our beloved Kazuki, Raphael has taken time apart.  It was Kazuki's idea and the band planned on it before he died.  Kazuki thought that the group could learn more while apart and re-join as a stronger Raphael.  And so the remaining members will follow this plan.  Yukito is working on a solo career and is doing great. (I think he's doing great, I haven't heard much about him in a while)  Yuki and Hiro have formed a new group called 'rice'.  Yuki thought up the name while eating in a sushi bar.  How cute.  ^_^;;;  Well, that's all.
