High School Seasons (1999-2000)
John competed at Woodland High School (WHS)
in his junior and senior years where he through the shot and discus. In his 99' season he
threw 53'3" in the shot and 151'10" in the disc, in the 2000 season he was
Captain of the track team and was named the 2000 MVP of WHS track team, he also broke his school record
in the shot at 58'3" and was 2nd in the disc at 165'10. He was also nominated for the
City of Woodland Athlete of the Year. In June of 2000, John competed
in the Junior Nationals in Denton, Texas where he threw 47'10".
He is a freshman this year and currently Undecided under Social Sciences with an
interest in communications. He is very excited about the upcoming season with the Cal Poly
Throwers and will work hard every day to improve.
