Review by Dave Linn:
This boot is pretty good, for a private production. Nice cover and rear photos. The sound is A-, with a good stereo mix, and very clean. The only faults it has are a slightly less than I'd like of bass, and Van's vocals are just slightly back, doesn't have that real presence of the best boots, but not bad. Listening now, and first thing I noticed was a lack of tightness in the brass (at least so far), esp in "Can't Feel It Anymore", but overall I'm very pleased with it. Its amazing, the show was 2 weeks ago, and they've been produced, ordered and shippied and received. Modern Technology!

Definitely an excellent DAT recording. The highlight without a doubt is "Just Like a Woman" Incredible! He WAILS!!!!

Review by Van-L list member Cuttsy:
The artwork is poor and looks like it's been pilfered from internet sources. Certainly the back cover is from the Wavelength web site. This is not a boot made by a fan, several tracks being misnamed. The label states The Dog is Dead. It's an average audience recording, being rather tinny, probably a reflection of the cavernous venue it was made in. Sound volume and balance is a little unstable, at times, the volume falling at one or other speaker. Despite this the CD is quite listenable and contains a good track selection including "Just Like A Woman" and a powerful "Healing Game". If you want a boot of the English June 98 tour and have a choice between this and Soul or Wonder then the Doberman CD's have a better sound and the edge over this one. The Dog is not quite dead!
