This is the 'first' GFR reunion tour but as you see, this show was done without Mel Schacter. Vocally, he wasn't missed (all he ever said was "all right") but I think they sure missed his thump bass playing.  Bass players are a lot like drummers, most people think they're interchangable without affecting the band's sound but I'm not in that category. I think Mel was missed. (He was a lot like Allan Woody from Gov't Mule - when he thumped a bass, you knew that a monster underbelly had emerged. It took Gov't Mule many years to recover his loss.) By the way, Mel does eventually return ('96 tour) to GFR so if you like the original line up, jump to one of the late 90's shows.
