I grabbed a spot out here in cyber-space to share some of the pieces of my Rock and Roll past. I figure there has got to be at least 1 or 2 other people that remember what the music scene in the Trenton area was like in the 70's and 80's. I wasn't the only one checking out bands like Wind at the Aquarius Lounge or The Next at Brothers and Sam the Band at Carnegie Hall. If you were there you may remember some of this stuff . This is my little tribute to a great bunch of people who were up there playing night after night, giving you girls something to dance to and you guys some background music so that you could make your move . Trenton, New Jersey has been the hometown of many talented people. Comedian Ernie Kovacs, actress Judith Light, baseball player Al Downing, saxophonist Richie Cole and singer/songwriter Maury Muehleisen are just some who took their talents to a higher level and achieved national fame. But, their roots were planted here in the Capital City. George Burns was once asked where the toughest audience he ever played to? His answer: "Trenton, New Jersey, it's half way between New York and Philadelphia, so they know what's good!" Look around and enjoy. If you have something to share, or have any corrections (dates, personnel, etc.) that I need to make, please let me know. Rock On, Tommy K . |
