Live and Let's Dance!

"Even if it's all a stage, a show, with no more meaning than the spectacle itself, isn't it wiser to get some laughs in today, now, while you are living in it? Are you content to be a mere hallucination dazzled by other hallucinations? Or will you start taking some choice for the direction in your life? Heads up! You participate in existence either way."
-The White Mouse

Some of you out there seem to enjoy hating us happy people for simply being happy. What kind of utter stupidity is this? Is it that you are so attached to thinking of yourself as a hateful and unhappy person with a chip on your shoulder that you can't even stop and realize that your life is just as much as a performance as ours is? If you want to be a troll under the bridge, that is your evolution given right. (Though a sad choice for you, considering the meaning of the implication behind 'evolution.')

You get your costumes, make-up, and props from the same place as the rest of us, so what is your excuse for trying to muck about with our enjoyment of the dance? Just because you chose to wear shitty attire and didn't want to learn the steps and the rhythm doesn't mean we had anything to do with it, especially since some of us have been trying to get you to see that you are in a circus, despite all of your denials. Sure, you can say that mucking about with our dance is the way you have fun, but we know better. We like to muck around too, but we do it to show how happiness is a choice. You do it because you are suspicious of us having fun. You don't like it. Your parents or caretakers were puritans who punished you for sipping coffee and smelling the roses, or something. You have this nagging anxiety underneath your tough-hard-reality-facade(tm) that someone somewhere is eating all those cookies you think are forbidden to eat.

A few things for you to think about:

First off, we don't need YOU to tell or show us any part of "hard reality," dumb-ass! We look around at the spectacle and we can see this for ourselves. We simply choose to find happiness and enjoy it. We are doing what you think is impossible and therein is why YOU can't stand it. It must be awful for you trying to give your best most serious most important performance in that cocoon of yours. But that's as far as our sympathy goes for the likes of YOU. We don't feel we should coddle you or listen to your version of reality(tm) anymore than we need listen to any other.

Secondly, when you are off in your dark corner hating all these damned silly performers who are about having fun underneath this bigtop, remember that we couldn't give a damn about your schemes and your attempts to hijack the circus for your own ends. Fool! Do you think the circus could ever be controlled by any of us? It is simply much too large and complex for any of us, and the more we dance, the more uncontrollable it gets. Despite what you may prefer, the rhythm of life cannot be stopped. The circus has a large orchestra of many pulses and notes. It was there long before you came up on the stage, and it will be there long after you have retired into whatever afterlife you may or may not believe in. (Though we suspect that may be merely in another tent. Sorry for you.)

We get sad and many times say that life sucks too. But that is just a performance, remember? It's part of being alive. We simply recover and get back to the dance. The only thing YOU can do about all of this, since you refuse to see that you are playing in a circus...since you refuse to join us in our choice for happiness, is to step aside. Live and Let Us Dance! Otherwise you are a bigger sucker than any of us have before imagined.

This is fair warning to you serious curmudgeons out there who want to hijack our laughing dance to your pretensions of gray bland "life-is-nothing-but-crap" party-line way of fascist thinking. One day, coming soon, you will have only the choice to be happy yourself, or to go off and wail about how no one understands you. In either case you will have to live and let us dance. We don't come knocking down the door to your dressing room to try to convert you to our dancing happy performances. So stop trying to do that to us. Wake up, silly git!
