Walking through the newly reopened 26th Street Rec Centre, Warrick can't stop smiling at the kids enjoying the annual Halloween festival. It's a busy day, and so far he's refereed both basketball and baseball games, so he doesn't feel at all guilty at going inside for a break.

There's a Hogwarts theme going on indoors, the helpers dressed up as professors, the various activities given wizard-like names. The kids here are younger, every one of them dressed up, and on his way across the room, Warrick passes a plethora of Harry Potters, a brother and sister dressed up as Dorothy and a winged monkey, and someone who looks suspiciously like a mad scientist. He fights back a grin as he thinks of Grissom, but that's nothing compared to the smile that comes to his face when he sees the woman at the Snap-Apple booth, the woman who swears she's not good with kids but who came here today, entered wholeheartedly into the spirit of things, purely because it meant so much to him. "Hey, Professor McGonagall," he calls. "Any spare candy?"

"McGonagall" turns a very Sidlesque glare on him over her half-moon spectacles, the effect rather lost when she has to reach up quickly to stop her pointed hat falling off her head. "No candy for you young man," she says sternly, making the little girl who's waiting her turn at Snap-Apple giggle.

"And why not?" Warrick crosses his arms over his chest, stares her down, but with a tap on the shoulder from Sara, the little girl answers.

"You didn't dress up!" she declares gleefully, and Sara gives a firm nod.

"Couldn't have said it better myself."

Warrick shakes his head, inclined to agree. Grams, all dressed up as Professor Sprout is behind Sara, and he catches her eye, asking Sara, "You ready for a break?" That's all Grams needs to hear, stepping forward, ushering the two of them away with a grin on her face.

Hand in hand, they make their way towards the door. "You training in an apprentice?" he wonders, and she chuckles.

"Michelle's a livewire," she says. "Who seems to like apples."

"Or you," Warrick counters, taking great pleasure in the flush that creeps up Sara's cheeks. "You know you didn't have to do this today," he adds, not for the first time.

"I wanted to," she says again. "Besides, I'm enjoying myself."

He's enjoying himself looking at her, and he can't resist teasing her. "You make a cute witch," he says, tapping her hat as he adds, "Even if you wouldn't give me any candy."

"Rules are rules," she replies airily. "No costume, no candy."

He looks her up and down. "That apply to you too?"

She shrugs, squints up at him. "Depends," she grins. "Got any treats for me?"

There's only one way to take that, and her grin only grows when he puts his hands on her hips, pulling her closer and bringing his lips to hers. "Come here and find out."
