Simon Paulson was born about 1840 in Norway.
He married
Ellen Marie Peterson.
January 7, 1873 in Fillmore County, Minnesota.
They had eight children:
Peter, Louis, John, Bertha, Ella, Henry, Samuel, Eli

The 1905 census of Lac Qui Parle County, Minnesota indicates a James Paulson age about 15,
also living with this family. If anyone knows if this was
also a child of Simon or if you know what ever happened to James,  please contact me.

Simon died about June 30, 1909 in Aberdeen, South Dakota at the age of 69

September 10, 1873 in Rushford, Minnesota.
He never married.

Peter died January 20, 1950 in Carlton, Minnesota at the age of 76.
He is buried at Elmhurst Cemetery in St. Paul, Minnesota.

He never married.

Louis died December 1, 1947 in St. Paul, Minnesota at the age of 72.

March 1, 1878 in Rushford, Minnesota.
He married Clara Saltness.

Bertha was born
July 2, 1882 in Big Stone, SD.
She married (1) Carl Farnum (They divorced)
1920 Census

Bertha then married
(2) Rudolph Betlach October 27, 1927 in Granite Falls, Minnesota.
Rudolph & Bertha had no children but family stories indicate
that she did have a son. If anyone has any information on this child
please contact me.

Bertha died August 12, 1952 in Anoka, Minnesota at the age of 70
She is buried at Elmhurst Cemetery in St. Paul, Minnesota

was born July 31, 1884 in Grant County, SD

I have no further information on this child.
Ella was born August 1, 1885 in Milbank, SD
In about 1913 she married
Andrew Ernest West son of John E. and Hannah Larson West.
He was born October 4, 1879
He died January 3, 1953

They divorced and Andrew moved in with
his sister Anna Sophie West Paulson (see below)

Ella died September 3, 1953 in St. Paul, Minnesota at the age of 68.

Henry
was born February 8, 1886 in Milbank SD
He married Anna Sophie West.

There is a record for a stillborn baby boy at the Yellow Medicine County Courthouse.
The records is as follows: Child death, male, not named. Born and Died March 3, 1919
Stillborn, Mother and Father: Henry Paulson & Anna West.

There is a brief item in my grandfather's journal for
February 26, 1956:
  "Henry, Anna, Josephine and Minnie came to visit....
....fixed them lunch."


Henry died July 29, 1960 in Minneapolis, Minnesota at the age of 74.
He is buried in Grandview Cemetery in Gary, South Dakota

Samuel (also called Simon)
was born June 8, 1889 in Grant County, SD.
(1) He married Emma Husby (They divorced)
They had three children:

Eletta
Eletta died before she reached the age of 1 year

Samuel died April 19, 1945 in St. Paul, Minnesota at the age of 55.

Henry Paulson

Eli Paulson died in 1923.
His sister, Bertha Paulson Farnum paid for his funeral.
