TWF KARAOKE
Welcome to TWF Karaoke, I opened TWF on the 9th of August 2001, for my birthday. I had no intention of doing it on a regular basis, but we all had such a good time that we (Allure, Cunning and Anniejj), decided to open the room every Friday. From small beginning the room has become very popular, many of you have asked 'how do I get backing tracks' I will endeavor to explain the many ways and types of files you can download.
The easiest way is just to download your favorite song and sing along. There are many music sites available, my personal favorite is winmx. There are also many Lyric sites available, I find the best way is just to type into Google the name of the track with 'lyrics' at the end.
Normal Music :
http://www.vanbasco.com
This site is a very good place for beginners to start, you can download a player here and karaoke or midi files. If your on dial up this site is ideal as the files are very small compared to normal music files so don't take hours to download. After you have downloaded and installed the player, create a file to put your songs into, go back to the site, type in the title of the song you're looking for, if you want lyric's as well you must download the sites with the 'lyric' sign beside them.

Once you have found a song you want, left click, that will take you to the site, find the song and right click, and 'save target as', this will bring a box up allowing you to select the file you created for your songs.

To play your songs, open the VanBasco's player, click on play list, a box will open, on the right is a pull down menu, find your saved files. Your saved files should now appear in the bottom of that box, to create a play list just double click on the songs required. The songs you click on will appear on the left hand side of that box, to play the song double click on the song in the left hand box. Make sure you have the karaoke button depressed, and the words will appear as the music plays.
It is possible with this player to slow or increase the tempo and alter the pitch of the song. Have a play with it, I promise it won't bite LOL
VanBasco's Karaoke:
Cdg files are the same type of files that professional karaoke DJ's use, they are actually two files one being an mp3, with the music and the other a cdg file, with the words. There are several sites where you can obtain these files, one is called Myraid, but it is very complicated to use and I would only recommend it to very experience PC users, but it is free.

The one I use is a site called Easynews.com, unfortunately this site cost $10 a month, but there are many other types of files available there, everything from audio books to 'knitting pattern's' wink wink. Plus the site is available on a monthly basis so you don't have to sign your life away. If you decided to use this site just type 'karaoke' into the search box and the best clubs will appear, these are updated on a daily basis.

CDG files come zipped, unzip them and extract to your music file, you will now have two files with the same name, to play open winamp, open your music file and click on the 1st file and it will automatically play. Once you have a few files you may create a play list in the normal way.

To play CDG files you have two options, you can buy a karaoke player or try to get a crack for one, WinCDG-Pro2 is a good one. Or you can download a free plugin for winamp that turns it into a karaoke player. Go to winamp.com, click on plugins, type CDG into the search box and download the patch, it's one of these smart patches and knows where to go. Open up winamp, click on the last little square on the left hand side open 'select plugin', go to general and the CDG plug in should be there. Now when you load the CDG files the box for the words will open too.
