It's hard to give a bad review to a greatest hits album when the featured artist is one of the forefathers of gangsta rap.

Ice Cube helped pioneer gangsta rap with his key role in N.W.A. When N.W.A. broke apart, Ice Cube followed up with another solid twelve years of hard gangsta rap. In fact, in the last twelve years, he's released seven full-length albums. With so much material from which to choose only 15 greatest hits, it quickly became apparent that Ice Cube's selections were based on his recent albums' bigger singles ('You Can Do It', 'Bow Down', 'We Be Clubbin', 'Hello', and 'Pushin Weight') and his older albums' chart toppers ('It was a Good Day', 'Steady Mobbin', 'Bop Gun', 'Check Yo Self'). Also, two new tracks are included on Greatest Hits.

The greatest hits compilation features some of Ice Cube's tightest tracks. His hard lyrical flow makes him hard to compete with. Unfortunately, Greatest Hits cannot please everyone, as I found the following four of my favourite Ice Cube tracks missing: 'Wicked', 'Ghetto Bird', 'F**k Dying', and 'Roll All Day.' Nonetheless, this album is a quality album, but just be aware that Ice Cube has even more hits in the hiding.
