While the Neptunes and their Star Trak productions are blowing up, it would seem a likeness of a similar name are making significant moves as well. Chingy, backed entirely by the production of St. Louis' The Trak Starz, has released one of the hottest albums of the summer. Jackpot rightfully earns its title as Chingy, whether skilled or not, lucked into working with the amazing lesser-known production crew known as The Trak Starz. As the story goes, Disturbing Tha Peace executive Chaka Zulu discovered these fresh producers and chose to team them with Chingy. The result is magical, as the chemistry between them sparks more than a fire. In fact, I haven't heard a party album this impressive in quite some time. 'Chingy Jackpot' is an emerald, as the seductive female chorus will captivate you every time. 'Bagg Up' is has a funky retro feel climaxed by Chingy's ability to mold his vocals to the beat. On 'Holidea In' Snoop Dogg and Ludacris find themselves right at home making for yet another hit track. 'Sample Dat Ass' is an irresistible club track highlighted by captivating stutter scratches. And who can deny the catchiness of the hit single 'Right Thurr.' It's easy to hear Nelly's influence on Chingy's style, but regardless, Chingy still manages to stand out on his own with his witty lyrics and The Trak Starz production. As well, the on-point use of female vocals plays a large role in taking Jackpot to the next level. Jackpot is a great party album heavy on lady-influenced content, but definitely worth checking out.
