Did you know...
...That the 1984 METRO-GOLDWYN-MAYER film entitled A Christmas Story
was written by a man from and set in the city of Hammond, Indiana? Jean Shepherd. Also, a scene in the movie, that has the children staring through the department store window at the Christmas display, has what appears to be a Lionel train set. Close inspection shows what appears to be a berkshire and, in the reflection in the window, what is certainly a Nickel Plate caboose. I love to watch the movie and imagine that the steam whistles in the night are those of the NKP.
