Trailcraft Troop 123  Mountain Man Program
Rules and Policies
First of all, there were no mountain men in Florida.  This may come as a shock to some of you.  We don't really have any mountains and very little rock.  What we do have is sand and water - in various combinations.  So we do make some adjustments to the mountain man way of life.  Mountainmen did not have to deal with swamps, many of the bug we deal with, leeches, water moccasins, alligators and other fun camping companions.

So, we do allow plastic or nylon ground cloths.  We do expect you to bring a poncho.   We do allow a sleeping bag.  You may pack certain foods in zip-lock bags, but these will be concealed in cotton or other types ot typically used bags or containers.  And don't forget insect repellent!!!
