Merit Badge Information

The purpose of the merit badge program is to allow Scouts to examine subjects of interest and to aid in determining if they would like to further pursue the subject as a career or avocation. And some merit badges are just plain fun to do! An important aspect of the program is to introduce Scouts to the life skills of communication - contacting an adult they hadn't met before, arranging a meeting and then demonstrating their skills, similar to a job or college interview. More detailed information about merit badges can be found on BSA National Council's website at : Introduction to Merit Badges
