The girls have been doing a wonderful job of taking ownership of their troop, and we have had a busy year so far. Our first camping trip in September, although wet & rainy, was a success. The girls completed the Conflict Resolution IP, which we will be using towards the Silver Award. In November, they completed the Cadette Challenge, and started a Ski IP which they will complete in January when we go skiing, and we had our first troop social. In December, we went on our annual craft camping trip, where we spent the weekend making all kinds of Christmas crafts, and will be Christmas caroling the weekend prior to Christmas at an assisted living facility.
Next year is shaping up to be just as busy, with Thinking Day in February, working on the Dreams to Reality in March, and the girls will be earning their Leadership Award by planning and executing the activities for our encampment in April. They are well on their way to earning the Silver Award. |
