In celebration of Boy Scout Week and the 98th Anniversary of Boy Scouting on February 8, 2008, Troop 322, chartered to the Dickson City Primitive Methodist Church, participated at Scout Sunday services, as well as the Northeastern PA Council Iron Horse District Klondike Derby at Goose Pond Scout Reservation on February 9. Over 200 scouts and 40 troop sleds participated in this annual winter outdoor event, where boys must maneuver a sled through an assigned course, while at the same time perform various timed tasks such as fire building, first aid, compass, and teamwork. That same evening, the Troop attended the NE PA Philharmonic’s sold out “Tribute to Motown and R & B” concert at the Scranton Cultural Center. Afterward, the troop committee, parents and scouts hosted Maestro Lawrence Loh, as well as members of the Las Vegas show band “Spectrum” at a pizza party.
