On Day 12 we relaxed in the morning until about 12:00 and traveled to downtown Durango for our kayaking expedition. We were outfitted quickly and driven to the local Animas River. We got a quick safety lesson and started out. There were no major rapids until we reached about 1/2 mile from the end of the trip. This Class 3 rapid is known for not allowing many kayakers staying in their kayak. On our trip we had about 4 people stay completely in. After the ride back to the outfitters, we watched a slideshow of the pcitures taken of us, judging the levels on intensity of the falls down the rapid. |

On Day 13 we got an early start and traveled back to the Peterson Air Force Base; but taking a detour we stopped at the Great Sand Dunes and had a little fun, while 5 of us climbed the 3rd highest sand dune on in the area. After rushing to get back on time for dinner at 5, we set up camp again in the garage, and relaxed while having a late night snack of root beer floats. |

Day 15 started out the same as 14, in which we woke up at 5:30am, and saw another boy scout troop was there with us, but anyway we went to the chow hall to eat an early breakfest, and traveled straight to the airport for a 2 hour ride. We took the underground train at the Denver Airport, and was on our plane in no time, after conflicting a little problem with someones ticket. Shortly after being in the air, the pilot informed us of a delay of our flight from Milwaukee to Philadelphia, in which our flight time originally was 3:15pm, but it was pushed to 4:55; but the even worse part was, besides having a 3 hour layover without the delay, that they kept pushing the flight due to violent storms in Philadelphia a half an hour each time. We finally got word at 6:00pm that our flight was ready, and there was a slight break in the storm. When we flew back to Philadelphia, we watched the Sunset from the sky, and watched PA light up in a matter of seconds. We landed just as the south side of the storm was just rolling in, and we landed about 9:11pm; and was back at Scout hall at 10:45pm. |

On Day 14 we woke up and had to be out of the garage by 6:00am, so we slowly made our way over to the "chow hall" for breakfest. We then sat and watched the television to kill time so that the clouds over Pikes Peak could clear. After killing time we started a long journey to the top of Pikes Peak; but the depressing part was that when we reached the top, it was completely cloudy, in which some of us caught clouds, or just shopped in the store. We realized we were lucky as we traveled back down the mountain after see that they closed the roads due to the clouds. After reaching the bottom we went back to the Air Force Base and ate lunch. After that we went to the United States Air Force Academy and took a tour of the Chapel and some historic information. We then returned back to the Air Force Base and re-set up our sleeping gear in the Garage, and played a dodgeball tournament, while waiting to go to dinner. When we arrived at the dining hall waiting for others to come back from a gift shop, we got an invitation to play a few games of Volleyball, in which we took the deal and and played them 3 games after dinner, and beat them all 3 times, then we mixed teams and played a few more rounds. |
