Chapter 30:
                                                     {Melon}

~Val & Mel~

   "Alright, Alright...I'm here, what are you planning?" Val asked as she meet Melly in the hotel lobby. "If Nick & I are gonna get married today, I want it to be special and that means I am borrowing that beautiful white dress of yours!" Melly laughed. "Oh no, not the white one, don’t you remember that last time I let you borrow a white dress of mine?!" Valley said. "That was an accident, besides Nick isn't going to be drinking red wine today...Please, Pretty please?" Melly begged. "Fine. it's a special occasion...let's go get you ready." Val said as the two headed up the elevator. "Thank-you." Melly smiled. "Do you wanna tell me why you ran out of the cab crying before?" Val asked her friend as they got off the elevator. "Well, Nick & I got on the topic of last names...and he wants me to take just Carter but my family has the tradition of keeping our maiden names to." Melly said as they entered the hotel room. "So, why did that make you cry?" Val asked confused. "Because Nicky is so passionate about me having just Carter in my name...and my mom is so passionate about me having Stanford-Carter." Melly explained. "Oh, so you are torn between two people you love dearly?" Val smiled. "Yes. That is exactly it." Melly smiled. "What did you decide?" Val asked as she took her dress out of the closet. "Well, I love Nick and I wanna start a family with him...so I'm going with Carter, just Carter. I want Nick to be happy." Melly simply said. "What is your mom gonna say?" Val asked worriedly. "She'll prolly be mad, but she'll understand...hopefully." Melly sighed, "But enough talking, help me get dressed!" "Jeez, I'm helping, I'm helping!" Val laughed.

~Nick & Brian~

   "I can't believe you are gonna get married today, Frack?" Brian said to his buddy as they dressed in tuxedos provided by the chapel. "Me either, but I love her." Nick turned to Brian, "She's the one for me." "I'm glad you found the right one...I think I found my soul-mate too." Brian smiled thinking of Val. "Melly and I were discussing last names on the way here today...and I told her I wanted her to be Carter and not Stanford-Carter. That's why she started to cry." Nick told his best friend. "Oh, that's right, I remember you telling me about her families tradition." "Yeah, but I changed my mind. She's can be Stanford-Carter, if she wants. I want her to be happy." Nick smiled and turned back to the mirror. "That's nice of you, I'm sure she'll appreciate it." Brian said patting his pal on the back. "Hey, maybe we should call Billy to get him to escort them here...what do you think?" Nick asked Brian, "I want him to be here anywhere, he's been like a step-dad to us." "That sounds like a great idea, I'm sure Billy would be honored to be here." Brian said, "I'll call him now."
   "Hello?" Billy answered. "Hey man, it's B-Rok, I need a favor..." Brian began to say. "What did you guys get yourselves into now?!" Billy asked. "Not much...Nick is about to elope and we need you..." Brian was interrupted. "Nick is what?!" Billy screamed. "Eloping...and Melly & Val are in the hotel getting dressed and we want you to escort them here." Brian said. "But...I was just talking to Jane & Bette and they have no idea about this." Billy said. "I know and they can't find out. Nick & Melly want to get married w/o the hassle of their moms." Brian explained to Billy, "Will you help us?" "Okay, yes, I'd be honored. I'll get them there w/o a sole hearing about it." Billy told Brian. "Great, we are at No Phoney Matrimony." Brian said. "No Phoney Matrimony...got it. See'ya in a few." Billy said aloud. "Bye man and thank-you." Brian said before hanging up. "It's all set, Nicky boy." Brian smiled, "Billy is gonna get those girls here soon." "Wonderful, I can't wait to marry Melly." Nick smiled back at Brian, "NoOne can stop this from happening now."

~Ethan & Jason~

   "Did you just hear what I just heard?" Ethan asked Jason as they stood outside Billy's hotel room. "Yes, Nick & Melly are eloping this afternoon!" Jason squealed. "Exactly...and we know how to stop it." Ethan smirked. "We do?!" Jason looked at him funny. "Yes, you idiot, we're you not pay attention just 5 mins. ago?! We will just tell their mothers!" Ethan yelled at him. "Oh yea, then they can stop it from happening and you can still have time to win Melly's heart." Jason smirked. "Duh, let's go!" Ethan slapped Jason as they left for the restaurant to tell Bette & Jane.

~Back w/ the girls~

  ::Knock, Knock::

   "Who can that be?!" Melly looked at Val. "I dunno, maybe it's your Mom! Uhmm, go hide in the bathroom and I'll take care of it." Val ushered Melly to the bathroom. Val walked to the door and slowly opened it. "Hey Valerie, you girls ready?" Billy asked walking in the room. "Ah, ready for wait?" Val acted all innocent. "Val, the boys called me. I know everything." Billy smiled, "Where's the bride?" "Oh okay..." Val laughed, "Come on out Melly! It's clear!" "Thank God, I thought it was my mother!" Melly walking out from the bathroom, all dressed and ready to go get married. "Melissa, you look beautiful." Billy said to her. "Thank-you." Melly blushed. "Ok, let's go...before Nick starts to flip out." Billy laughed ushering the girls out the back way. They got on the secret elevator and took it down. "Ya know, Ethan & Jason were asking about you two earlier." Billy turned to the girls. "Really? What did they say?" Val asked. "Not much, they just wanted to know your favorite things and stuff." Billy said as the elevator opened on the ground floor. "Uhmm, I gotta go to the bathroom...I'll meet you guys there, ok?" Val said. "I don't think that's a good idea...Brian is expecting me to bring you to the chapel now." Billy said, "We'll wait." "No, you don't have to..I can get a cab and be there in 10 mins. Just get Melly there for Nicky!" Val laughed. "Are you sure, Val?" Melly asked, "I want you to be there." "I will be there, I promise." Val said hugging Melly. Valerie then walked away to the bathroom as Melly & Billy proceeded to the chapel.

~At the Chapel~

   "Nick, I present to you, you're future wife." Billy said walking Melly in. "Wow, uhmm, wow." Nick said in shock, "You look amazing." "Thanks, you look handsome too." Melly said kissing her future husband. "Ah, did you guys forget someone? Where's Val?'" Brian asked looking around. "Oh, she said she needed to use the bathroom before we left and insisted we leave and she'd meet us here." Melly said. "Is she okay?" Brian asked worriedly. "Yeah, she is just fine." Melly smiled, "Brian, Billy...can you excuse Nick & me for second?" "Sure." Billy & Brian agreed leaving Melly & Nick alone. "What's up babe?" Nick said. "I have something to tell you..." Melly said before Nick interrupted. "I have something to tell you too." Nick smiled, "But you first." "Okay, I was thinking about the last name thing and I made up my mind." Melly started to say, "And I am going to just use Carter." "Are you sure? Because what I was gonna tell you is that if you wanted to use Stanford-Carter, It'd be okay with me." Nick said. "Yes, just Carter. It's time I live my life the way I want to and not how my family thinks I should." Melly explained to him. "If that's what makes you happy, it makes me happy too." Nick said picking her up and kissing her, "Let's go get married."
"Oh, I really want to..but not without Val. She should be here any minute now." Melly smiled at Nick.

~Back at the Hotel~

   "Okay, there is Bette & Jane, I'll go talk to them and you just hang out here, ok?" Ethan told Jason. "Yea, sure." Jason nodded. Ethan walked over to the mothers’ table. "Excuse me, your Nick Carter's and Melissa Stanford's mothers, right?" Ethan acted all innocent. "Why yes we are, and who are you?" Jane questioned. "Oh, sorry, I'm a friend of the Bride and Groom." Ethan said. "Bride and Groom?" Bette laughed. "Yeah, I can't believe they are getting married today either, it's the No Phoney Matrimony Chapel on 75th, right?" Ethan smiled. "What are you talking about?" Jane stood up and yelled. "Oh, you didn't know...I'm sorry. I just assumed you did." Ethan sounded concerned. "They're getting married today?" Better asked. "Yes, in alittle bit, I just wanted to double check the location with you before I headed to the wrong chapel. Sorry to have told you like this." Ethan frowned. "No, don't be sorry. We're glad you did." Jane smiled. "Yea, thank-you. Jane, we better get over there now!" Bette said standing up. Bette & Jane paid for their bill and took off for a cab. Ethan just walked back over to Jason laughing.
  "I did it...I told their moms." He smirked, "Nick & Melissa are NOT getting married today!" "Alright man." Jason said giving him a high five. At this time, Valerie was walking to the front of the hotel to catch a cab to the chapel and overheard the end of their convo. "How could you do that?!" Val screamed, "You guys are so low!" "What are you still doing here?" Ethan yelled, "I thought you'd be a chapel!" "I was on my way there right now! But now I have to call Melly and Nick to warn them!" Val said reaching for her phone. "I don't think so!" Ethan snatched her phone, "Melly belongs with me!" "You are crazy!" Val yelled, "Give me my phone now!" "Sorry, not if you’re going to ruin our plan!" Jason grabbed Val's arm, "You just gonna have to wait here with us until the damage is done by Jane & Bette."
