CHAPTER FOUR: Melon

"OK, here it is." Tanya said pulling away from the warm embrace Alex had her in. "Here?" Alex questioned looking up at Nick's house, "Nick & Melissa's house?" "Yeah, Melissa is my best friend." Tanya said opening the gate. "Oh, wow, I remember her mentioning a friend, just never got to meet you." Alex said following her onto the property. "Well, never was aloud out...because..." Tanya has stopped by him. "I know, you don't need to say it again." He said as he opened the deck door.

"AJ, dawg, what you doin' here?!" Nick said slapping him five. "I ran into Tanya here on the beach...turns out we live in the same apartment building." AJ said. "Used to live in the same apartment building." Melly said walking in the room. "Hey Melly, what's up?" AJ said hugging her. "Just protecting my friend here." Melly looked over at Tanya, "You allright?" "Yes, I am fine! I'm not a baby!" Tanya said embarassed that now another person knew. "I didn't mean that you were...just I'm worried." Melly said putting her head down, "I made the guest room up for you while you were gone."  "Thanks, I'm sorry, just hate all of this." Tanya said sobbing abit. "So how about a game of scrabble?" AJ suggested hoping to lighten the situation, "Tanya can be on a team with me." "And that would be the losing team!" Nick chimed in quickly, "Melly and I are an unstoppable duo!" "Bring it on Team 'lovey dovey'!" AJ said laughing, "Team 'we just met' will kick your butts!" They all joined in laughing as they set-up the game.

Back at the apartment, Justin was ripping apart Tanya and his bedroom trying find a single address book. "Where the fuck does she kept her address book?!" Justin screamed throwing a lamp threw the deck door. "I need to find the the motherfuckin' thing!" One by one...shirts, pants, stationary, picture frames, etc...went flying around the room. The room could have easily been mistaken for a war zone. "Why didn't I fuckin' listen when she rambled on and on about Nick and that bitch's new house!" Justin yelled to himself, "I know thats where she is hiding!" He ripped through the closest until he came to a lock box hide behind a giant box of clothes. Unable to open it, he ran to his tool box and got the hammer. With one quick and hard slam, it opened. "Ahha!" Justin said finding an e-mail Melly had wrote Tanya about the house. He skimmed it and it gave him enough information to find their place. "Gated community, huh? Uhmmm..." Justin thought, "I better break out that sercuity guard costume from Halloween."

"Dawg...D-A-W-G...so thats a double word score....20 points!" Nick said placing it on the scrabble board. "That's not a word, Nick!" Tanya laughed. "Yes, it is...like saying: 'Yo dawg, what's up'!!" Nick yelled back. "Noo, Nicky dawg, it isn't. It's a slang term!" AJ said removing it from the board. "Heey, ya'll got to keep Homie!" Melly said standing up. "Look at us fighting over a scrabble game." AJ said looking at his watch, "It's 2am, how about we call it quits?"  "Not before we count up the scores!" Nick said beginning to count. "Without Dawg!" AJ jumped in. "Fine, we'll still win!" Melly smirked. "You two!" Tanya said has she chuckled and counted along with AJ. "234 here." Melly said proudly. "Dammit...232 here!" Tanya sighed. "We won, we won...we knew we would...hahahaa!" Melly and Nick stood up and chanted. "By 2 points remember that!" AJ said helping clean up. "AJ DAWG, why don't you just stay the night? It's too late to be walking back home and I am too tried to drive ya DAWG!" Nick said laughing. "Get over it DAWG! And sure, sounds good." AJ said. "Just take the room across from Tanya." Melly said smiling. "Melly...I know that smile!" Tanya said. "What smile?" Melly smirked, "It's nothing." "Uhuh, sure." Tanya said knowing her friends wanted to play matchmaker.

"Ok, so I need to get in here....be cool." Justin said walking up to the sercuity booth. "Good Evening, Bob...Eastland sercuity sent me as your replacement for the night shift." Justin said smoothly. "Oh, wow, they said they couldn't send anyone tonight. Everything is quiet, should be an easy night, seeya." Bob, the sercuity guy said, as he left the booth and drove off in his pick-up truck. "Not for long Bobby boy, not for long. Where the hell do they have all the addresses?!" Justin said going through all the papers on the desks.

~*~

"Well, I am tired, so I am heading off to bed." Melly said to the group yawning. "Thats my cue folks." Nick said wrapping his arm around Melissa, "Seeya in the morning, just holla if you need anything you two."  "Yes, especially you girl, love you...sleep well." Melissa hugging her best friend. "Thank-you...everything will be fine tonight." Tanya said hugging her back. Nick glanced at AJ as the girls hugged. He was more relaxed that AJ was there, another man to help him protect the girls overnight. AJ immediately know what Nick's glance meant and was ready for the job. "Nite guys. I think I am gonna watch some TV for a bit more." AJ said. "I think I'll join you, if u don't mind...not ready to sleep yet." Tanya said softly. "Sure, of course." AJ said patting the couch he had plopped on. Melissa and Nick went to their bedroom towards the front of the house on the 2nd floor and AJ & Tanya were watching the TV in the back of the house on ground level.

"Here they are!" Justin said after he realized to play with the computer for the addresses. "Carter...Carter....Carter..." he said as he panned the list, "Gotcha! Nick Carter...20-25 Taylor Street." Justin had the biggest grin on his face. He was gonna go in there, get Tanya and stop whomever got in his way. "Now I need a fuckin' god damn key!" Justin said as his eye landed upon all the keys along the bottom, back wall. "20-25...here I come guys...you fuckin' ready?!" He said laughing as he picked it up, walked out of the booth, took off the fake sercuity outfit and threw it in a nearby bush and proceeded to walk towards the house.
