So, now this Jeeps age spans Three decades!- It now is the proud bearer of a 78 AMC 360. Its a little late of me to be making a note of it here- but better late than never.
Now for a little history- The 258 that we swapped in last december- well it was on its way out- now I have to let all of you you there in TV land know that the 258 Never once let James down; It ran on with no aircleaner, top end noise, bottom end noise, and and filled with a mixture of 50 weight and 90W-120. This poor motor had been had a hard life- tortured off an on by James and Co. and severly neglected by its former owners. But didnt that littel bugger have some grunt.
Well, Now he has a 360, and he likes to take off in 3rd gear. The boy thinks hes got a 'Glide! The 360 came out of a 78 Waggie with an AMC/Jeep TH400. Well, we put it in after having to make some engine mounts...A little fabbing never hurt anyone. With the MC2100 2bbl it makes way more power than the 258. But what would you expect from 102 more inches? After some teething cooling problems the thing runs like a beast. In all the excitement, only a few pictures were taken and all came out underexposed. Bummer. |
