Under the Hood

This is what an 85 AMC Eagle engine compartment looks like from the factory. As you can see, its a mess. There must be a mile or so of Vacum lines under there. near as I can tell its all Emmission Realted, and Who knows How much of it is functioing. Much less leaking and making the thing run poorly anyway. In Air conditioned cars its even worse. The 258s seem to have been whacked pretty hard, and the Carter BBD that Adorns the Intake has a Bad rap for all the lines. Ive got some that run well (one truth to say-runs great) I have seen many run poorly. At one point I Decided to do a hack and chop- and remove msot fo those Obnoxious lines.  Below is what I got.
I know that this shot is pretty bad. Varying light conditions tend to play havoc with those Cheapie disposable cameras. (That's my exscuse and Im stickin to it) This is after a total lobotomy of those pesky vac lines. I know it still looks bad, but its nowhere near the way it was It seems like it looks worse than it is bacuse of the leftover AC crap. I am using the York AC Compressor as a compressor for Onboard Air. Ive yet to get a long enough tube to reah the rear tires. But its there. And it works, I can fill up a 205- 70-15 in about forty seconds.
