British Columbia Junior Hockey League
1961 ~ 1980

The Kamloops Junior Hockey Club was first organized in 1960 with the club being sponsored by Mr. Ernie
Davies, owner of the Central Hotel, who agreed to accept the responsibility of any operating loss, while turning
any operating profit to the Kamloops Minor Hockey Association.

The Kamloops Rockets, Kelowna Buckaroos, Penticton Jr. Vees and Vernon Junior Canadians made up the
fledgling league, which took to the ice to begin the 1961/1962 season.
