The broth had a real salty flavor but surprisingly the seafood was not really noticeable. Pretty much just a salty flavor and not much else, but still a good ramen. Overall: 4 |
MYOJO KAKESOBA-DESSE SOY SAUCE FLAVOR |
Season Packet: salt, sugar, soy sauce(water, soybeans, wheat, salt), seafood extract(bonito, mackerel, smelt), monosodium glutamate, fried wheat flour(wheat flour, palm oil, corn starch, sodium bicarbonate, salt), natural flavor, wheat protein, caramel color, seaweed extract, lactose, calcium carbonate, sodium pyrophosphate, whole egg powder, sodium polyphosphate, green onion, disodium inosinate, fermented wheat, red pepper, guar gum, xanthan gum, lecithin, vitamin E, vitamin B2, vitamin B1 Spicyness: 1 Comment: I have been researching Japanese style noodles. Kakesoba is a bowl of noodles in hot broth. The noodles with this one are made of buckwheat. Buckwheat has a grainy texture and adds a different feel when eating them. The broth is very similiar to the review above, maybe even the same. After adding the hotwater there is a fairly strong seafood aroma. But when eating only a hint of the seafood can be detected. The flavor was mostly a salty flavor with the seafood in the background. The puffs of wheat added a little texture. Overall: 5 |
MYOJO IPPEI-CHAN SOY SAUCE FLAVOR |
Season Packet: salt, yeast extract monosodium glutamate, palm oil, sugar, caramel color, soy sauce(water, soybeans, wheat, salt), hydrolyzed tuna protein, spices, seafood extract(scallop, clam), guar gum, disodium inosinate, disodium succinate, garlic flavour, xanthan gum Liquid Soup: vegetable oil(soybean oil, sesame oil, rapeseed oil, palm oil, rice oil), soy sauce(water, soybeans, wheat, salt), yeast extract, bonito extract, monosodium glutamate, spices, disodium inosinate Dehydrated Mix: cabbage, corn, fried garlic(garlic, palm oil), bamboo shoots, green onion, red chili pepper Spicyness: 2 Comment: I'm not sure of this Japanese style of noodle. Nothing came up in my search of ippei-chan. The broth had a pleasant salty flavor with a little seafood background to it. Which was surprising since the sodium content was at 90% of the daily recommended allowance. The broth actually didn't taste extremely salty. The amount of veggies was huge and the cabbage and corn provided a sweet texture to go with the salty background. Overall a great ramen. Overall: 5 |
MYOJO IPPEICHAN YAKISOBA JAPANESE STYLE NOODLES |
Bowl Size: 4.74oz/134.3g Sauce Packet: worcestershire sauce(distille vinegar, sugar, tomato, onion, carrot, apple, orange, salt, hydrolyzed soybean protein, spices, water), palm oil, caramel color, hydrolyzed soybean protein, monosodium glutamate, yeast extract, salt, onion flavor, scallop extract, distilled vinegar, licorice extract, disodium innocinate, garlic, vitamin B2 and B1 Dehydrated Vegetables: cabbage Mustard Mayonnaise: palm oil, distilled vinegar, salt, egg yolks, sugar, mustard, monosodium glutamate, natural flavor Spices: dried worcestershire sauce(distilled vinegar, sugar, salt, tomato, onion, apple, spices, yeast extract), caramel color, potato starch, spices, seaweed Spicyness: 1 Comment: Yakisoba is a fried noodle dish flavored with Japanese worcestershire sauce. Even though 'soba' usually means buckwheat noodles, yakisoba are similiar to ramen style made from wheat flour. This is the type of ramen you put boiling water in, steep 3 minutes and drain it off. I was surprised to find 2 different types of worcestershire flavorings a liquid and dried version. After mixing all the ingredients together the noodles took on a darkish brown color. The noodles had a tangy flavor obviously due to the worcestershire flavorings. Not much else in the way of flavor, the mustard pack did not add much flavor. There was a huge amount of cabbage which did provide a crunchy texture. Overall not too bad just needs some more flavoring. Overall: 3 |
