NISSIN SEAFOOD FLAVOR |
Season Packet: salt, pork flavoring(contains milk serum), sugar, hydrolyzed plant(corn, soy, wheat) protein, monosodium glutamate, seafood powder(scallop, clam), soy sauce powder(soybeans, wheat, salt, dextrin), garlic powder, sesame seeds, chicken flavoring, spices, green onion, disodium guanylate, disodium inosinate, sesame oil, citric acid Spicyness: 1 Comment: This ramen is fron China, I'm not sure if its the same Nissin brand found in American supermarkets. I was shocked to see pork and chicken flavoring in the soup base when its a "seafood" flavor. Unfortunately, the pork and chicken overwhelmed the seafood flavor and thats all you tasted. More like a chicken flavor base. No spicyness in the broth, just a salty chicken flavor. Nissin must have felt uninspired for this one. Overall: 2 |
NISSIN SPICY FLAVOR |
Season Packet: salt, soy sauce powder(soybeans, wheat, salt, dextrin), sugar, monosodium glutamate, spices, chicken flavoring(contains egg powder), hydrolyzed plant protin(corn, soy, wheat), color(caramel, paprika), garlic powder, green onion, citric acid, disodium guanylate, disodium inosinate Oil Packet: sesame oil, rice oil, color(annatoo, paprika), spices Spicyness: 5 Comment: This Nissin package was a fiery red color, which lived up to its billing. The oil packet was red and smelled like sesame oil, but the season packet is where all the heat comes from. The noodles were the standard you get with Nissin, but the broth was the real treat. The soup was spicy and salty and burned my throat with every swallow. Then a nice sesame flavor comes through, but by then the broth is burning in your stomach. A few pieces of green onion are in the mixture, but they dont add anything. The picture on the package suggests adding seafood, this would be great with a little seafood mixed in, especially squid. Overall: 5 |
NISSIN PORK FLAVOR |
Season Packet: salt, monosodium glutamate, pork flavoring(contains corn starch), soy sauce powder(soybeans, wheat, salt, dextrin), hydrolyzed plant(corn, soy, wheat) protein, sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, sesame seeds, non dairy creamer(tapioca syrup, plam oil, sodium caseinate, glycerides), spices, dry skim milk, yeast extract, citric acid, disodium guanylate, disodium inosinate Spicyness: I had a feeling when making this ramen that it was going to be just your basic salty flavored broth. Comment: Yep, I was right. The broth had a salty flavor and not much else. There really was no meat or any other flavor at all. The package makes a huge amount of noodles but the broth is uninspired. Your typical American cheap ramen. Overall: 2 |
NISSIN TOP RAMEN CHICKEN FLAVOR |
Origin: U.S. Size: 3oz/85g Season Packet: salt, monosodium glutamate, hydrolyzed soy, corn and wheat protein, chicken powder, soy sauce powder(wheat, soybeans, maltodextrin, salt), onion powder, garlic powder, spices, chicken fat, calcium silicate(anticaking agent), celery powder, sugar, leek, turmeric color, autolyzed yeast extract, citric acid, disodium guanylate, disodium inosinate, natural flavors, artificial flavors Spicyness: 1 Comment: Nissin top ramen is another version of the cheap American ramen found in stores. The broth had a strong chicken and salty flavor with a little bit of celery aftertaste. The noodles held up well with the broth. Add a little bit of chicken and some veggies and this would be a chicken soup. This is your typical cheap ramen found in stores so don't expect a lot. Overall: 3 |
NISSIN XO SAUCE SEAFOOD FLAVOR |
Package Size: 3.5oz/100g Season Packet: salt, pork flavoring, monosodium glutmate, dry whole milk, sugar, garlic powder, chicken flavoring, green onion, soy sauce powder(soybeans, wheat, salt, dextrin), spices, shrimp powder, onion powder, seaweed flavoring Seasoning Sauce: package was suppose to contain one but did not Seasoning Oil: palm oil, onion Spicyness: 1 Comment: I did not notice when I prepared the ramen that there was suppose to be a seasoning sauce packet in the package. After I ate the ramen and started to write the review I did notice. This explains a lot of things now. As I was eating the ramen I noticed no seafood flavor at all more like a chicken flavor and thats it. I was puzzled as to why Nissin would make such a crappy seafood flavor. I will have to pick up another package of this one and do another review but until then this will just get a bad review due to missing one of the pouches. Overall: 1 |
Package Size: 3.5oz/100g Soup Base: salt, starch, onion powder, spices, wheat flour, sugar, hydrogenated refined vegetable oil, yeast extract paste, vegetable hydrolysate, garlic powder, citric acid, maltodextrine, tomato powder, asafoetida powder Spicyness: 2 Comment: This flavor from Nissin was made in India and obviously geared toward the Indian market. There is a muscular man on the front and a logo which states "packed with the power of vitamins and calcium". You have to give it to Nissin trying to promote it's ramen as healthy, but then again with all the malnutrician in the world maybe everyone just needs ramen to solve this problem. There was not much broth left after the noodles soaked up most of the water. The flavor was mostly curry and a salty, sweet after taste. Other than that really this is all I could taste. The noodles were the standard you would find in a cheaper ramen. But they get the job done. Overall a uninspired offering from Nissin. Overall: 2 |
NISSIN TOP RAMEN MACHO MASALA |
NISSIN BEEF FLAVOR |
Package Size: 3.5oz/100g Soup Base: salt, hydrolyzed plant protein(corn, soy, wheat), soy sauce powder(soybeans, wheat, salt, dextrin)monosodium glutamate, sugar, garlic powder, pork flavoring, spices, onion powder, caramel color, green onion, citric acid, disodium guanylate, disodium inosinate Oil Packet: vegetable oil(palm, rice), artificial beef flavor Spicyness: 1 Comment: This is the Demae ramen brand that Nissin puts out, I assume for the Asian market. The flavor is a little better than you would find for the Nissin American market type, the broth of course was salty and had a slight beefy flavor to it. More like a beef boulion cube flavor. Other than that just your typical cheap ramen. Not bad if you are looking for a snack. Overall: 3 |
