VINA ACECOOK TOM YUM |
Country: Vietnam Package Size: 3.2oz/90g Soup Base: salt, sugar, MSG, spices, citric acid, disodium 5' guanilate, disodium 5' inosinate, natural lemon leaf flavour, natural color Oil Packet: not listed in ingredient list, probably palm oil Chili Oil Packet: not listed in ingredient list Dehydrated Mix: shrimp, vegetable Spicyness: 3 Comment: My local asian grocery store has some new varieties of ramen to try. I saw this brand and of course bought all the flavors that they had. As with other imported ramens the ingredient list is not totally accurate. The broth had a reddish tint due to the chili oil packet being red. The flavor was incredible. The broth was a combination of sour, salty, spicy and seafood. The pieces of rehydrated shrimp added a touch of seafood and sweet flavor to the broth. There appeared to be some cilantro also in the mix. The noodles were the typical thinner kind but they held up well in the soup. Overall quite a tasty ramen. Overall: 5 |
VINA ACECOOK BEEF BALL MEAT FLAVOUR |
Country: Vietnam Package Size: 3.2oz/90g Soup Base: salt, sugar, MSG, gluten, beef flavour, caramel, citric acid, disodium 5' guanilate, disodium 5' inosinate, natural colour Dehydrated Mix: ingredients just says dried vegetable Oil Packet: not listed, maybe palm oil with shallots Spicyness: 3 Comment: Again with Vina Acecook the ingredient list leaves much to be desired. The broth had an interesting flavor. Kinda a meatish flavor with hints of licorice. Not sure of what spices are in this, but at times an exotic flavor is detected. The spicyness seems to hit toward the end. The noodles held up well. A pretty good ramen. Overall: 4 |
VINA ACECOOK TOMYUM KUNG |
Package Size: 2.1oz/60g Soup Base: salt, sugar, shrimp powder, spices, citric acid, natural scent of lemon leaves Dehydrated Packet: fish cake, leek, shrimp Dehydrated Packet #2: fried onion Oil Packet: vegetable oil Spicyness: 3 Comment: The top of the package states that this is made with Japanese technology, not sure what that is suppose to mean. Tomyumkung is a popular Thai soup, I think even their most popular. The broth had a strong lemon flavor which was quite nice. The spicyness was not overpowering but enough there to compliment the lemon flavor. The fish cake and shrimp added a little bit of seafood flavor. Overall a tasty treat. Overall: 4 |
VINA ACECOOK PORK FLAVOR |
Soup Base: salt, sugar, MSG, spices, gluten, pork flavor powder, caramel, citric acid, disodium 5' guanilate, disodium 5' inosinate, natural color Oil Packet: not listed in ingredient list Dehydrated Mix: corn, dried vegetable(I guess Acecook wanted this to be a myster) Spicyness: 3 Comment: Keeping with tradition Acecook omits a lot of the ingredients from their list. I don't know why when it comes to pork flavored ramen a lot of the ramen companines put a pile of "mushy" looking pork on the package. Maybe this is how pork is eaten in Asian countries. The broth was very oil and had a very meaty, salty flavor which was actually quite good. The spicyness added a nice heat flavor to the meaty flavor. There was a lot of textured protein pieces that were there to simulate pieces of pork. These added a nice chewyness to go along with the meaty broth. Not much in the way of veggies other than pieces of green mystery veggies. Overall another good ramen from Acecook. Overall: 5 |
VINA ACECOOK HOT & SOUR WITH SHRIMP |
Package Size: 3.2oz/90g Soup Base: salt, sugar, MSG, shrimp powder, spices, disodium 5' guanilate, disodium 5' inosinate, natural colour Liquid Season Packet: not listed in ingredient list Oil Packet: vegetable oil Dehydrated Mix: not listed in ingredient list Spicyness: 3 Comment: Another review of Vina Acecook and the ingredient list still has not improved. The broth had a salty and sour taste with a decent amount of spicyness. A typical broth from Acecook. There was a fair amount of veggies mostly green onion and bits of who knows what. The noodles were the typical thinner type. Sadly there was not a single piece of shrimp which you would normally find. Overall a tasty ramen. Overall: 4 |
