This is an Oklahoma State Registraion. Jimmy Easley submitted this item. The story regarding this document is quite interesting. He recently purchased his camper for $1800.00 from a man in Mauriceville, Texas who drove somewhere up North to pick it up. Jimmy found this item inside a piece of pipe welded underneath the rear of the camper. It had this certificate inside a little plastic tube capped inside the pipe. It's green and was registered in Oklahoma.

"We also have the silver tag on the front with numbers, etc on it but I haven't written them all down on paper yet...maybe I need to. On the inside of the storage cabinet under the sink is another tag that says Dayton Trailer Mfg. but doors can be swapped so I don't know if this info is legit or not. I'm sure the outside tag is what tells about the camper. I really need to record all this information somewhere. Jimmy"

Jimmy Easley's U-Haul Camper is titled as a 1984 U-Haul Camper.

From this document, my best estimate would have been this is how U-Haul may have kept track of the campers....i.e. The main headquarters is located in Arizona, so all vehicles owned and operated by the U-Haul company would be held at the headquarters in Arizona. But to own or operate any vehicle, it would have to be registered with the state where it is located. So for a little more. This is also possible. An independent U-Haul Dealer may have ordered and rented U-Haul Campers, therefore, the title would have needed to register the vehicle in the state where it owned and operated. The owner (U-Haul) or the (Independent Dealer)would have to have the registration on hand. Not the renter. Therefore, if the unit was transferred from one U-Haul Dealer to another U-Haul Dealer within a state they would have access to the registration. This is a possible scenario and an explanation of the tube containing the registration.

So, this is what I see:
VIN #UH351303 (Because of the various differences in states, this may have been shortened, therfore, it would not be your entire serial number or unit number) [Again, the only suggestion to reveal your original VIN or serial number is to lightly strip the tongue of your camper to reveal the Unit Number which is illustrated in the attached photos, and the serial number on the top of the tongue in front of your propane tank holder, then repaint <---Only necessary if you want to know everything about your camper......you can also look on the rear of your camper above your license plate -look very closely at different angles, use a cleaner, if the camper is the original gelcoat, you may notice the camper unit number ****-CT-****. The outlines of the numbers may still be visible.]

Original Title Number: K921039

Date of Registration: 12/05/86 Expiration Date: 12/87

Previous Tag/Decal is in reference is the license PLATE: 6J11177

Company Registering the Camper Trailer:

U-Haul Co.
7525 SE 29th Street
Midwest City, OK 73110

From the amazing capabilities of search and the internet.

U-Haul - Find a location Search

But from just searching Yahoo, and the keywords: U-Haul Midwest City OK

U-Haul Co Independent Dealers Midwest City
Midwest City, OK 73110-2821
(405) 733-2236

Therefore, the camper was owned and operated by an Independent U-Haul Dealer. This would account for the registration in the State of Oklahoma by the U-Haul Co in Midwest City, OK.

From looking at Body Style: TS = Travel Trailer or Recreational Vehicle
Year: 68 (looking at this, this could have been a typographical error - could it have been 86?)
Make: SHOPB (In the repair manual, the U-Haul Campers were assigned an alphanumeric letter to the model years affected. The following code letters apply to the Camper Trailer.
CODE A - 1985 Models Only
CODE B - 1984 Models Only)

So, the code would indicate a 1984 model. I would still access that from my knowledge and all the information I have gathered, the U-Haul Camper Trailer was produced during 1984 and 1985. Despite models being titled as 1986 and later. I would estimate that the trailers were manufactured with a production run of 2000 CT trailers, 1000 per year, and then were built at the various plants, and titled upon completion. They could have the frames, and shells already manufactured, but could not title the unit until it rolled off the production line.

CLASS: CR (no idea)
