Haunted Hay Ride - October 2000

Through the support and assistance of the West Seenca Soccer Association, the Town of West Seenca and the Erie County Parks Department, Tremendous Teens of WNY, Inc. (TTWNY) was able to provide over 500 children and parents with safe constuctive fun the week before Halloween 2000.

The Haunted Hay Ride was held at the West Seneca Soccer Association complex on Seneca Street in West Seneca, New York.  The hay wagon was loaned to TTWNY for this event by the Erie County Parks Department.  The wagon was towed around the one (1) mile perimeter path around the soccer complex by employees from the West Seneca Highway Department.

Hay ride tickets were sold for $3.00 per person.  Volunteers from TTWNY provided refreshments and snacks such as apple cider, orange drink, coffee, popcorn and chips.  While waiting for the ride, children were allowed to participate in the bean bag toss to win candy and/or chips or allow their faces to be painted with Halloween patterns.  The Vigilant Fire Company brought their junior members to hand out Halloween safty items and allow children to view their fire fighting equipment.

As the hay wagon proceeded around the soccer complex past ghosts linning the path and Halloween theme music playing, members of the Alpha Phi Omega fraternatiy from the University at Buffalo, dressed in scary costumes, provided frghtful sights and elicited screams from the wagon passengers.

Below are a few of the photos taken during the early hours of the Haunted Hay Ride.
