Kenix Kwok
She's one actress that I like since immediately I saw her. I first her in a series called the Remembrance.
She acted with Chilam Cheung. But she really made it big when she acted in Detective
Investigation Files with Michael Tao. I think she began her career when she entered a Miss Hong Kong Pageant. She didn't win the
Miss HK title, though. Anyway, after that she entered the showbiz.
Other than her TV career, I don't know if she sings or not. And I've never seen her in movies also...
My comment
As I said before I quite like her from the beginning. I think she's a very good actress, too. If you're looking at her career, you'll see that she managed to play in different roles and did a good job in every series.
But nowadays, I think TVB only gives her two kinds of role -- if not someone who is so sweet and gentle (like in ATE I and Hiu Ya in Reaching Out), it would be someone who is hot-headed, funny and stuff.
I think if TVB keeps doing this, Kenix might end up being a type cast.
Her most memorable role: Definitely Jessie from DIF I-II
Stengthes: Not only that she's beautiful, but she's also good at acting. She's very versatile.
Weaknesses: Getting same roles over and over and that made people started to get bored.
Her TV Series
- The Remembrance
[Recommended]
Setting in Shanghai era. She acted as a girl who just came back from some foreign country with her father. Her father got killed by accident in the shoot out and Kenix was also blind because of that.
Chilam felt guilty about it, so he tried to take care of her. They fell in love later but then her eyes were cured and she found out that he was the one at the shoot out and made her blind...and lots of stuff go on.
I like this series a lot, it's very entertaining and Chilam and Kenix made a great couple.
- Down Memory Lane
As a poor girl who worked in a mine. Her character was like sweet, weak and stuff. The series was quite draggy and boring but she paired up with Frankie Lam in this one...so it may worth watching if you want to see them together on screen.
- Detective Investigation Files I-III
[Highly Recommended]
To be specific, I should say DIF I-II. I don't like DIF III too much. Anyway, DIF was like a classic here. It's such a great series. Kenix played Jessie, a hot-headed, nosy reporter who later fell in love with Michael Tao, a police man.
This show is something everyone shouldn't miss. Definitely a MUST-SEE.
- Food Of Love
Acted as a anchorwoman who was Wong Hei's love interest. She didn't end up with him, though. Anyway, this is a good and funny series.
- Criminal Investigator I
Don't remember much about her character. I like this show but I guess her character was not so impressive or memorable. She paired up with the main guy, Felix Wong.
- Crime of Passions
As a police officer but not the kind that ran after the theif and stuff, though. This show is quite boring and she paired up with Bobby AuYeung which I found that they were not so compatible.
- Simply Ordinary
I didn't watch this series because it looked boring. I don't know if it's really boring or not. She paired up with Gordon Lam in this one.
- At The Treshold of an Era
In ATE I, she acted a girl who came between these three guys, Gallen, Sunny and Roger. But she loved Gallen, anyway, she began to fall for Sunny later. I don't think her character is too good in this one.
Her character was kinda weak. Anyway, she did a great job in ATE II. She acted as Mei Na, a twin sister of the one in ATE I. Her Mei Na was funny and very fun to watch.
- Reaching Out
[Highly Recommended]
After ATE, she acted in dual roles again in Reaching Out. I think she did a great job as SpiderGirl, a mean and very pessimistic woman. Besides, this is such a good show, if you really try to think while you're watching it.
Draggy at times but tolerable. Kenix didn't appear in later part of the show...if I remember correctly it was Episode 28. She and Gordon made a great couple here.
