The Megasquirt-n-spark ECU is being updated to the Megasquirt-Extra code and will support the Ford EDIS distributorless ignition system, so I won't have to cut a hole in the firewall for the distributor. The megasquirt will control the VVT (Variable valve timing) of the 20-valve head, and the engagement of the electric supercharger clutch, and the wastegate solenoid for boost control, and the knock sensor, and the second fuel pump for the extra injectors I will have to add... and Way more!! James Murray and Philip Ringwood have taken the simple megasquirt system and basically taken it to a whole new level. Everything that megasquirt did has been drastically improved, and the list of features that can be added still boggles my mind. I can't praise them enough for the work they have done... and shared with the Megasquirt users... Free! http://www.jsm-net.demon.co.uk I will add my megasquirt tweaks to my megasquirt page eventually. I noticed how many people are searching for 20-valve wiring harnesses and JDM ECUs. Those things seem to be worth their weight in gold to anyone performing an engine swap. But with Megasquirt Extra, a distributor isn't needed, the original ECU isn't needed, the original wiring harness isn't needed and you can modify fuel and spark settings to exceed factory power, and handle mods and upgrades. Plus the list of extras that must be seen to be belived!! Let me give you a hint about the 'Extras' How about changing from pump gas fuel and spark tables to race gas fuel and spark tables with the flip of a switch? How about a variable pulse width water injection controller? How about a nitrous controller that also controls spark and fuel at the same time? How about an experimental traction control system? How about controlling two sets of injectors? RPM settable V-tec or VVT controller? How about a boost controller that lets you set 4 different boost levels that vary by RPM or Throttle position? There's more... I will update my megasquirt page fairly soon.. as soon as I get everything working.

Hi there boys and girls.. I'm still here and tinkering. The Corolla now runs on a homemade do-it-yourself programmable ECU that controls both fuel and spark timing. Megasquirt Check it out. The Corolla now sports a LSD rearend with 4.10 rear gears, a full-size tubular header instead of the stock cast iron exhaust manifold, and a centerforce dual-friction clutch. The real reason I will be updating my site is because of my old 74 Celica. It has had an 18RC, then a 20R/22R hybrid, then an 18RG, but now I am working on a 22RET. Fuel injected 22R with a garrett t3/t4 and intercooler. ...check the Celica page for progress.
I now almost have enough 18RG info to put an entire page together... Since I have 3 of them now... I'll do something with all these pictures.
