Welcome to this fansite, dedicated to the beautiful Takato Youichi. Takato is a character in the mega-hit series Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo, that was born from the collaboration of writers Kanari Yousaburou and Amagi Seimaru with artist/manga-ka Satou Fumiya.
Takato's first appearance is in Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo volume 20, and continues to appear time and again as Kindaichi's greatest rival. Takato is undoubtedly Kindaichi's most complex opponent. He's very clever, and he designs extravagant tricks to do crimes -- to complete his magical performance. Although doesn't seem like it, he's a natural born killer - don't try to fool around with him!
If you don't know much about Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo, well... just wait. Maybe I'm going to make up a fansite dedicated to the series. All I can tell you right now that it was published by Kodansha from 1993 to 2001. There are 27 volumes of 'regular' Kindaichi series, 10 volumes of Kindaichi Case series, 7 volumes of Tampenshuu (which is a collection of short stories), some novels (in Japanese and English), some other related books, TV series, films, and video games.
Allos is Greek for The Other. And although in the manga Takato
states time and again that he is the mirror image of Kindaichi, and that they
are parallel lines that look so similar but will never cross each other's path,
I think that Takato is more like Akechi. Both have similar
background--they wanted to be what they are today in sake of their parent(s).
Both are beautiful and clever. It's only that they think backwards.
'The difference isjust that I stand one one side and you the other. I set
up the crimes, you trace them back.' says Takato to Akechi in one of my fanfics.
Rectus means right and sinister means left. But in English,
'sinister' also means 'evil', thanks to past mistranslations (because 'rectus'
means 'right', they thought 'sinister' means 'wrong'...)
